Sesame Snaps

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2009
these tasted great the 1st and 2nd day. After that, they tasted like old butter blobs with sesame attached. I need to tweak this recipe, but unsure how and at the moment I am not inspired. It needs to be less buttery and more sesame.

these are pretty good. Quick and easy yes. I used a bit less sugar as I dont want things too sweet. I have had better, but these are good too.

This was gone in a second. It was really good...but not great. I would make it again...but with instant mashed potatoes for quicker prep.

I am not sure how authentic this is...but it tasted great. I did not add the tofu and used lime juice instead of tmarind b/c I could not find any. Still great!

Black Magic Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2009
Excellent cake. This recipe was supposedly my Grandmothers secret recipe...until I found it on the back of a Hersheys cocoa can! Anyway, this recipe is awesome. You must use buttermilk or at least half and half. The coffee is essential for the flavor (dont worry it does not make it a coffee flavor, it only adds to the chocolate flavor). You may use applesauce as a replacement for the oil, but it wont be as fluffy a cake as oil would make it. I use less sugar than the 2 cups...I use about 1 3/4 cups. Its still very sweet. YOU DO NOT NEED FROSTING at all! It is that good. Ive tried dusting it with conf sugar but it gets soaked in and disappears so now I dont bother. A local bakery here in my town whips up an espresso chocolate fluffy icing to put on top and its great!

Maple Carrot Cupcakes

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2009
hi. These are good. They are similar to other recipes on here made with carrots, such as the cookies, and cakes. I like them and so does my 2 year old. I used less sugar than called for and I still think it was a bit too sweet. I like the texture. The house smelled like pancakes when they were baking, which was interesting. These are good and I might make them again, if I have some syrup I need to get rid of but otherwise I will stick to a regular morning glory muffin or a carrot muffin.

these are totally awesome. my 2 year old and her little friends love them too! I did add just a touch of oatmeal to bulk them up and that was great. I used part butter and part oil instead of shortening. This is my new signature recipe of the moment!!!

Good Dog Cookies

Reviewed: May 28, 2009
My dogs love these cookies. The changes I made were Chicken Bouillon instead of beef (didn't have any beef). 4 Baby carotts chopped finely (for veggies). 1/4 cup bacon drippings and 1/4 cup canola oil for the vegetable oil (for flavor). A dash of garlic (helps with mosquitos). The always want at least 2 each time.....

Tangy Slow Cooker Pork Roast

Reviewed: May 14, 2009
This was very good for pork roast. My family does not like pork roast, but we were given one. I would not make this again.... unless I am given another pork roast. I did double the sauce and added 1" cubed potatoes to the pot for 30 min. The potatoes were GREAT. With double the amount of sauce, I thought that there was just enough. The meat was good...kids ate it :-)
