Marinade for Steak I

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
This is the best steak marinade. It's so simple. The only thing I've changed is the tablespoon of pepper. I use steak seasoning instead. Be sure to let this marinade all day and your steak will be so tender and moist. Even the fat will melt in your mouth. I can't stand fat on my meat, but when I use this marinade I can't resist the tiny bit left on them. YUM!

Milk Chocolate Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2009
I thought the chocolate would melt and spread across the crust but instead it stayed in chip form. It was not that appealing to me or my hubby. I will look for another chocolate pecan pie recipe.

Tex-Mex Burger with Cajun Mayo

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
This is really really good. I omitted the jalapenos since I don't handle spicy foods very well. The burger was flavorful enough and spicy enough without the jalapenos if you don't prefer them.

Graham Cracker Crust I

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2009
This recipe was too soggy. It tasted great, but the texture was chewy and the crust wouldn't go up the sides of the pan to form a full crust since the mixture had so much butter and made the crust too heavy to stay up.

Tomatoes With Vinaigrette

This was really really good. It had just the right amount of tanginess. I used a little bit less sugar to help save a few calories.

Sturdy Whipped Cream Frosting

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2009
Really sturdy icing as stated, very nice balance between whipped icing and cream cheese icing. We like Cream Cheese icing and this wasn't quite cheesy enough for a carrot cake but I will for sure use this on other cakes.

Creole Fish Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2009
My family used to make something very similar to this with halibut (easy to get in Alaska). I usually except the bay leaves, but they are a nice touch. This is a good, basic fish meal, that looks nice in a shallow bowl.

Tasty Eggs for Two

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2009
This was great and very attractive. I didn't have any butter so I substituted it with a little bit of oil. I also used a fresh potato, cubed it, and microwaved it for a minute and a half since I never have frozen hash browns around. The amount was perfect so it would be a hearty meal for me and my bf. I sprinkled some Colby-Monterey Jack cheese on top as a garnish.

Penne Pasta with Spinach and Bacon

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2009
This was really good. Personally, there was way too much bacon and pasta for the amount of sauce. Next time I think I will reduce the amount of bacon and add it at the end so it remains crispy. In order to make this a more complete meal for my bf, I added cubed chicken that was sauteed in EVOO, salt and pepper.

Pretty good, but not my favorite. I wanted to try this recipe since it's a little different than others I've tried, but I didn't like how the flavor of the confectioners' sugar came through. Thanks anyway, it was worth a try!

Valentino's Pizza Crust

This was an alright recipe. It didn't cook all the way through, even though I rolled it out to more than a 12" round. It tasted like your average pizza crust.
