Microwave Lemon Curd

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
I used 3 lemons and their juice. The taste is great. I agree with some other reviews about the small amounts of egg whites. If I was serving this in a dinner party setting I would certainly run it through a metal sieve, but as I wasn't the small amount of egg whites was no big deal.

Gingerbread Biscotti

I altered a little as I didn't have wheat flour, I used all white. These are easy to make and very tasty. I did drizzle with lemon flavored white chocolate and the result was great. Would recommend!!

Warm Blue Cheese Dip with Garlic and Bacon

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2009
I altered this a tiny bit. When I was caramelizing the garlic in the bacon grease, I threw in about 1/4 finely diced red onion. I omitted the chive. It was fantastic!! My mother won't touch blue cheese and I made her try it, she really liked it. Thanks a bunch, it's a keeper!!

Hearty Split Pea Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
Although I didn't use my slow cooker, I followed the recipe almost exact. The only deviation was I omitted the milk at the end as I wanted my soup thicker. I also used chicken broth instead of water. I was pleasantly surprised with the results!! First time I have ever attempted split pea soup and I will always, always use this recipe in the future! Thanks so much.

Carmel Apple Martini

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2009
I thought this was just okay. I would have used less vodka, it was pretty strong tasting. Someone had put apple juice in it, that may tone it down. I don't think I'll be trying this again.

Chili Verde Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2009
Although, I didn't follow the recipe to a "t", I think that the results were great. I didn't want to have to go to the store, so I omitted the g.pepper and the wine. I didn't have any canned chilis, so I used a can of Rotel and because of this I also omitted the salsa. Put the pork shoulder in the crock pot with garlic and cumin, added the rest and had a great dinner last night. Thanks!

Great flavors! We put it on spaguetti, I think the bow ties would have been better. I wouldn't change a thing! I didn't give it a 5 because it has to knock my socks off for that. This was just plain good!

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2009
These are delicious. I used butter instead of margarine. I also ended up using about 1/2 c. more flour than stated as my dough was quite sticky. I flattened my cookies and wished that I wouldn't have. They came out very flat, although that may be due to the altitude as I am in Wyoming. Great taste and with a little tweeking I know I will use this recipe again!! Thanks!

Thought I had tomato sauce, turned out not to, did have taco sauce. Made a great substitution and did not have the blandness problem others talked about. Turned out very good. Very good spice combo with the oregano and chili powder. Thanks for a good recipe.

All American Roast Beef

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2009
This Roast slices like deli roast, it does NOT shred into long tough strands. I cooked it till the meat thermometer read 160 degrees Fahrenheit , so it would reach 170 for well done after it rested. The only other thing I did differently was use garlic pepper in place of the pepper. The best roast for slicing I have ever made. Just Wonderful!!! Thanks for posting!!

Sour Cream Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2009
We really like this a lot! I used a thinner cut pork chop and halved the cooking time, I need to reduce it even more. But regardless, it was very tasty! I used white wine instead of milk, mushroom soup with roasted garlic, put the sour cream on the meat, that was really good, and put the sauce on pasta. We put parmesan cheese on the pasta. It was all really good! A keeper for us!

Coconut-Apple Cobbler

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2009
Wow! This was incredible! THe coconut made it crispy and sweet on the top. I had read a not so good review that said it got too done on the top and the apples weren't cooked, so I sliced the apples very thin and took it out of the oven a couple minutes early. It was perfect! Thanks for the terrifically good and easy recipe!

Reunion Meatballs

Thumbs Way Up for this one. My husband and I both LOVED them. I followed the recipe, all but scaling it to half as it is just the two of us. I used hickory smoked bacon and it added just a hint of smokiness that was nice. Served them with boiled new potatoes in a garlic butter, and green beans. Thanks for a great recipe!!!! I will be making these a couple of times a month from now on.

Gorgonzola Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2009
This was really a good quick salad. I did change things a little. I think it needed a tiny bit more vinegar, I don't like a strong vinegar taste but this needed a little more. I also used sea salt with lavender, it really gave it a great flavor and aroma! I added pears and lavender candied pecans. Super good!

Chicken Noodle Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2009
I did not care for the cheese and the Savory together. I tasted the sauce before adding the cheese, it was a nice cream sauce and the savory added a nice "something". So I am rating it on the sauce before adding the cheese. I will leave out the cheese or try a milder cheese like a mozzarella next time. The cream sauce before the cheese is lovely.
