Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2009
This is really good! I dont know why some people didnt think so. The reason theres not tons of seasonings in the recipe is cuz seasonings are a personal preference. This is just a base recipe. You can add what ever seasonings you want. I added minced onion, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. It was really good. (Served it over "Grandmas Noodles 2" from this site)

Loved these! I added a big TBS of melted butter to the dough. 1/2 t salt does not make these too salty. This recipe is perfect! Its Just extra good with some added butter.

Cinnamon Carrot Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2009
what makes this a carrot "bread" instead of a carrot "cake" is that this has a little less sugar and twice the amount of flour than cake (making this more dense and less sweet.) 2 cups of flour still seems like too much flour. I cut it to 1 1/2 cups and thats perfect (doesnt make the bread sooo dense.) other than that, this is a good recipe. serve slices with butter if you want a "bread" , serve w/ cream cheese frosting if you are wanting a "cake!"

Sausage Balls

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2009
I had ground turkey instead of ground sausage and My dad is allergic to wheat so I had to do things completely different. I used pamelas gluten free baking mix instead of bisquick and pinched in 1/2 cup cold butter (needed to add butter because pamela mix is more dry than bisquick and also sausage is more dry than turkey). I then added lightly cooked ground turkey (seasoned w/ garlic, onion, salt, and thyme) instead of using sausage. Then I added the cheese (and really you can use any of several kinds). Still seemed a little dry since i was using cooked turkey insead of raw sausage, so i added some milk (i think like 1/2 cup). Then i added a little more salt to the overall mixture. Baked at 350' 10 ish minutes and turned out super perfect. Served it with ketchup and blue cheese (a house hold favorite). My gluten intollerant dad loved it and so did the rest of my family.

I've had better, but this is really good. i have experimented with this recipe lots of times and it turns out perfect every time. I would use 2 tsp. of vanilla extract though. It gives it more of a kick.

Big Guy Strawberry Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
I only used the recipe for this crust but for the filling i used the strawberry glazed pie recipe. This crust is really good its basically a shortbread crust and just melts in your mouth. next time i might add a tablespoon of powdered sugar cuz i'd like it more sweet; i have a sweet tooth.

Strawberry Glazed Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
Cut recipe in 1/2. Used exact ingredients ratios and directions. Used shortbread crust (1c flour, 1/2c butter, 1/4c powdered sugar, 1t vanilla) instead of graham crust and i'm really glad i did. After pouring strawberry filling into crust I stuck it in the freezer instead of the fridge for a while to set up cuz i get impatient. Served the pie with cool whip. Flavor of this pie is amazing. not too sweet just perfect.

Soft Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2009
My family died over these. They are soft chewy and taste absolutely perfect but be careful not to overbake. i chose this particular pb cookie recipe cuz i dont like when there's too much peanut butter and this recipe calls for equal amount of butter and peanut butter, which to me is just perfect. 1st batch i did just normal criss cross pb cookies. 2nd bath i added mini reeses pieces and formed dough into 1/4 cup size dough balls dipped in sugar (all the kids loved these)

my dad has a gluten intolerance so this recipe was perfect for me to make for my family. Did everyhting as writen except didnt have corn meal so had to replace it with more masa harina. turned out great though everyone loved it including my dad. Baked 60 min in water bath w/ foil, the last 20 min i did no foil no water bath at 400 degrees. next time i might double the recipe but still use an 8x8 dish

One Bowl Brownies

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2009
This recipe failed to deliver. Being an especially picky brownie connoisseur I was utterly disappointed. They weren't chocolaty enough, the texture/density was way off and the appearance was also off. I followed the directions thoroughly mixed every thing by hand and used the best ingredients. I ended up with slightly denser cake squares. They tasted ok but were definitely not a keeper. I gave it three stars since the cake squares tasted ok and because I'm much pickier than most people. If you are picky too move on this recipe is not for you.

Five Minute Ice Cream

Fabulous! I cut down on the sugar just a bit and use whole milk in place of cream. I like frozen mixed berries best. I have a fancy ice cream maker that does not require ice, but this is faster for fruity ice cream. Love it.
