Filling tends to crystalize on the bottom. Still trying to figure out how to correct this, but still a great recipe.

Pizza Pasta

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
I was looking for a quick & easy recipe using ground beef. This was perfect!! I love that it only has six ingredients and was still very tasty. I substituted bowtie pasta for rotini (I used about 12 oz.) and onion powder instead of onion (hubby hates onion bits). We both loved it! It was also very filling, and we have a ton of leftovers so I don't have to cook tomorrow night :). Will definitely make again!

Apple Streusel Cobbler

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2009
I made this recipe for my daughters birthday - - and it was a HIT!..."Ooohh's & Aaaahhh's" Everyone raved over this recipe. I used my own homemade apple pie filling (32oz bottle instead of the 21oz can) so it gave more body to the recipe. I doubled the recipe (but not the sweetened condense milk) I served it with vanilla ice cream since it is very sweet, next time will drop the brown sugar to half. Trust me, it won't hurt the flavor or recipe at all! This is a KEEPER recipe! Thank you!

I dropped the pepper by half. My family still commented on the "peppery" taste. As suggested by other reviews, I used 1/4 Cup Butter, 2 TBSP. Bacon Drippings (for the flavor) and 2 TBSP. Oil. Recipe turned out FABULOUS! THANK YOU!

Pumpkin Oatmeal

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2009
I have a larger family, so I did NOT microwave. I used water instead of milk, then just topped my bowl (and the children's too) with Half & Half, a rare treat. The pumpkin left a raw taste, so cooking it for additional 10 minutes helped tremendously! Which in turn allowed the spices to blend better, don't forget to salt it. The children still loved it and asked for it to made again. Note:Because recipe is not too sweet, some of my children added dried cranberries, some of them just added 1 Tbsp Maple Syrup. (yea, I have 6 children.)

This was okay. Pumpkin has a lot of nutrients and my toddler seemed to like it. (I added a little brown sugar instead of honey for him.) I'll make this for him often.

This was pretty good. It's not a recipe I'd use often but it wasn't bad. I added a green bell pepper and more spices because by itself it was bland. Not sure if I'll make this again.

Beef Enchiladas II

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2009
I make Mexican food all the time. These to me would be only good if 1. you fried the tortillas first before filling them and the 2. you dipped the fried (not-yet-filled) tortillas in enchilada sauce front and back, then after that lay them in the casserole dish and begin to fill w/ the meat, cheese, and onions

Old Fashioned Coconut Cream Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2009
Great recipe! I tried using the coconut milk, but prefer to use cream. I use 1/3 cup corn starch instead of flour. Also, I put in 1 tsp. coconut extract. It sounds unusual, but we love to serve ours with a raspberry sauce and of course a dollop of real whipped cream. It is so yummy!

I'm surprised more people didn't write about how sopping they were from butter on the bottom. The overall taste was good, but they have WAY too much butter and that was unappetizing.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2009
I have baked it twiece now! IT'S OUT OF THIS WORLD. I followed the recipe to the T. The only changes I made was that I maded my own oil crust (also from this site), added a pinch of nutmeg, 1 Tbs of vanilla and 1/2 Tbs of cinnamon to the syrup. My husband who is a picky eater gave me "5 stars" and said that its better than his mom's apple pie (which its really hard to achieve). His brother and nephew asked for seconds and kept raving about the crust and the flavour of the pie!!!! Thank you so much for such a wonderful recipe. THIS IS MY APPLE PIE RECIPE FROM NOW ON!!! THE VERY BEST OF THE BEST!

Berry Oatmeal Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2009
I'm only giving this 4 stars because I altered the recipe, and I think it would have been pretty ordinary if I hadn't. I add 2 tsp vanilla, reduced the oil to 1/3 cup, added 1 shredded/peeled apple, used an extra 1/4 cup walnuts, and a generous shake of cinnamon. To make them more healthy, I used evaporated cane sugar instead of refined sugar, and omitted the topping. These are particularly fantastic while they are still warm. Great recipe.
