Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
Yummy! These were really delicious. I used 1 cup regular flour and 1 cup whole wheat flour, plus a tablespoon of wheat germ. I only used 1 tsp of cinnamon and added 1/2 tsp of cloves. 2 cups of oats were plenty. I also added 3/4 cup shredded coconut and 1 cup cinnamon chips. Chopped almonds or pecans would have been really good in this but I didn't have any. The batter was kind of crumbly, so I did form them by hand into balls, but I did not flatten them with a fork or top them with sugar. I baked them for a full 10 minutes. I got 46 cookies out of this recipe. Less than 24 hours later, there are only four left! I will be adding this to my recipe box for sure!

Pretty good - had a great mixture of tangy and spicy. I think this would also be great on chicken breast meat.

This was outstanding, but needed an additional crunch - maybe add walnuts or chocolate chips next time? Other than that, it was addictive. YUM

Delicious but needs a little tweaking. My husband suggested that maybe next time I could add mushrooms, and some parsley for some color. I halved the recipe and had an abundance of sauce as well so I recommend cutting back to anyone reading the recipe.

I've made this recipe a thousand times. It's nothing fancy and is more for a quick family meal. You can add more spaghetti sauce, mushrooms, whatever. Also, Allrecipes forgot to put cottage cheese in the ingredient list. I submitted this recipe in 2004 and it just got approved today Oct. 28th, 2009. Weird.

This was good for a quick, must have apple crisp, fix. It turned out more like applesauce with a crumble on top. I have to eat it with vanilla icecream and caramel sauce. Best Ever Carmel Apple Crisp from this site is amazing but like I said, need it fast...use this recipe.

Butternut Squash Soup

This turned out way better than I had expected! I used two small squashes, and it made exactly 6 cubed cups. I used a hand blender to blend directly in the pot, and then decided to only use one block of cream cheese. It was PERFECT with just that.

Awesome and Easy Creamy Corn Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
Since we recently moved to Texas, I wanted to make something "southern" feeling as a side dish for friends. I thought this was outstanding, creamy and delicious however my fiance just said it was "OK". It kind of reminded me of the corn dish they serve on mexican plates at Chevys, which my fiance doesnt like either! If you like that, You'll love this!!

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
I thought this was quite delicious, and makes a TON! I served as an appetizer at a dinner party at our house recently. Multiple guests asked for the recipe. It does taste like jalapeno poppers for sure. However, I put mine in a casserole dish, threw some panko crumbs on top and baked at 350 degrees for 45 min. Something about the idea of the microwave just turned me off....

Carrot Cupcakes with White Chocolate Cream Cheese Icing

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
O.k. but not the best by any means. The recipe makes a lot of frosting. I don't get the white chocolate part because you really don't add enough of it to notice any white chocolate in it at all. They didn't have enough flavor for me. I would have added a little more of each spice.

Romanian Apple Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
I didn't think this cake was all that great. I even laughed when I read one of the reviews said it was too sweet. This is a dessert that I would recommend to someone who doesn't like sweet desserts. I just felt like something was missing. It was very bland. I put butter on my piece while it was warm just to give it some flavor. One of my kids wanted to know why I made bread with apples in it. I guess you could add cream cheese frosting. The recipe is simple but so is the taste.

Insalata Caprese II

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2009
I used fresh roma tomatoes and sliced up the basil instead of using a whole leaf. I also used fresh mozzerella which is a MUST for something like this! I bought the high-end stuff from whole foods to make veal parmigiana, and used the remainder for this salad. In addition to oil, I drizzled balsamic vinegar on top and let sit for about 30 min before serving. Really easy, fresh, and delicious! enjoy

Mint Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2009
Amazing! I was a little worried about other reviewers comparing the flavor to tooth paste but they were wrong! I bought high-quality peppermint extract and doubled it for both the green frosting and the chocolate shell for the top. Also, I doubled the green frosting completely. I used the recipe from this site called "too much chocolate cake" and baked in two round cake pans. Using this recipe meant I didn't have to freeze the cake before frosting. I DID freeze after the green frosting went on, then I spooned the chocolate glaze over the top letting it dribble down the sides. It looked beautiful with the green frosting peeking through. I topped with a pretty design of andes mint/chocolate candies. My recipe photo for this one was voted a favorite for the allrecipes.com site for the day!!! If you want gorgeous presentation along with a delicious treat, try this one!!
