Oatmeal Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2005
These were so good! I followed the recipe exactly and then brushed the tops with melted butter when I took them out of the oven. The best part of them though, was that they were still SO soft and tender the next day!

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2005
My little 5 year old helped me make this one so it might not have been quite like it should have been. He added milk without me there and we were a little short on the burger (only had 1.12 lbs instead of 1.5). It turned out okay, the kids wouldn't eat it but the honey said it had great flavor.

Squash Casserole I

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2004
Not bad, but not great. There was way too many bread crumbs and they didnt soak up the liquid like indicated. The flavor was good, could use a little salt, but was way soupy. If I make it again I will use a 6 ounce box of stuffing mix and mix half in with the soups, and sprinkle the other half on top. Does have potential.

Grandma's Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2004
I was not too impressed with my first try. I was in a hurry and forgot the poultry seasoning. I also used dark meat because I had some already cooked. I also used cheep noodles and they fell apart. I will have to try again using good ingredients.

Christmas Breakfast Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2004
Yummy! I used chopped ham instead of sausage, because I had leftovers that needed to be used. It was great the way we did it, but I think it would have been a 5 star recipe if I would have followed the directions with sausage. I think next time I will add a couple more eggs. Will make again.

Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2004
Not too bad. The part that gave it a 3 star is the glaze. I thought it had too much almond flavoring in it. I could have done with just 1/4 teaspoon or none at all. Other than that, it is great.

Christmas Ornament Cookies

Great flavor and texture. Nice and soft. I tried them for tree ornaments and they didn't work too well, some of them broke. Could have been all the icing the kids used. YUMMY! (4 stars cause they broke)

Cranberry Salad I

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2004
This was not one we cared for. The kids refused to more than taste it. I was the only one who ate any of it but it was mainly just so it would go to waste. I only made a half batch. I really liked the marshmallows in it, but it is a salad that sould be eaten soon after preparation. Doesn't stay well in the fridge. Thanks anyway,

Eileen's Spicy Gingerbread Men

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2004
Yummy! This was my first attempt at gingerbread cookies . They turned out wonderful for me. The edges were slightly crispy and the center nice and soft and chewy. I made an outline with frosting and then made eyes, buttons and a mouth. Then turned out so cute. I gave some to my neighbor and she called me within 5 minutes requesting the recipe and told me they were the softest and best gingerbread cookies she had ever tasted. She said she had already eaten 3!! And they were good sized. Just do NOT over cook!

Cheesecake Supreme

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2004
Whoa! Can you say sweet? I cut the sugar in the crust in half and still thought it was sweet. I would prefer somthing with just the slightest hint of tart so I will keep looking. Over all, the taste was good, the texture great and worth a try. Also, the outside of my cheesecake cracked, while the middle wasnt quite cooked, but almost.

Chili Rellenos Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2004
This recipe definately has potential. I was not impressed with the tomato sauce, I would use enchilada sauce or salsa next time. Also, I thought there was too much cheese. Wow! That is really saying something for me because I am a cheese lover and usually add more than is called for. Maybe there wasn't too much, just needed something in there with it. I think I will try a little shredded chicken in the middle of the chilies next time. I have never had chile rellenos with meat in them, but hey, sounds like it would be tasty!

The Best!! It turned out perfect. I didn't use the cinnamon or even wait for it to cool over night. I ate it right out the pan as soon as I was finished cooking. Yummy!

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2004
Totally Awesome!! The texture was so perfect. Even after sitting around for 2 days, they were still nice and tender. Amazing. Super easy and not at all time consuming. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because they didn't quite have the "biscuit" taste I was going for, but I will definately make them again.

Brian's Favorite Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2004
WOW!! I would give this 6 stars if I could!! This sauce was absoutely delish!! I did double the oregano, basil and cayenne pepper as some reviewers suggested. I also pureed 2 of the cans of tomatoes, only used about 1 tablespoon of the olive because thats all I found was needed and let it simmer for about an hour. It turned out perfect. The kids loved it!

Incredibly Delicious Italian Cream Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2004
The frosting is what makes this cake! Delicious! The cake was very dense and heavy. I was not overly impressed with the cake. The flavor was okay but the texture was not what I wanted. I may try again and add coconut extract to the batter. It may have turned out the way it did because of my oven - burned the top and left the bottom barely cooked.

Cream Cheese Candies

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2004
Wow! Not at all what I was hoping for. I thought there was too much mint flavoring, I would have perfered it to be a bit more subtle. Also, the powdered sugar was very strong as well. I could barely taste the cream cheese, and then only when I was really trying. I basically tasted just like minty powdered sugar.

Strawberry Torte

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2004
Okay, what are lady finger cookies and where do you find them?? I looked at 3 different grocery stores in town with no luck so I used graham cracker sticks instead. Instead of putting a layer of them in the middle, I put the majority of the strawberries and then put the rest on top and swirled it. Next time I will use a bit more cornstarch to thicken it up a bit more, mine was a bit thin. I was a bit impatient and didn't let it sit in the fridge for more than 15 minutes or so, and when I took off the side of my pan and cut it, it kinda fell, but the next day when I cut it, it was great. The flavor and texture were awsome!

Not too bad. Definitely something you want to eat fresh out of the oven, not too good the next day. I used butter flavored shortening and the taste and texture were good.

Cajun Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2004
Awesome!! I followed the recipe almost exactly (I added a little flour to thicken it up a bit) and it was perfect! One thing I did notice was it made a little more than 2 servings, atleast at my house. I fed my family of 4 with it, although my kids are just 3 and 5, and still had leftovers.
