Fantastic Black Bean Chili

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2009
This recipe was a bit bland, like the other reviews it needed a bit of something. I added salt, cumin and some salsa I had in the frig. After that I thought it was pretty darn good. I use turkey in my chili anyways so that was no biggie, I also dont cook too spicey because I have 4 kids. So this was a really workable recipe for my house. Love it!

Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2009
These were right on the money. When I added the Peanut Butter I added a little extra to use up my jar, maybe 1/2 a cup more. These were moist and fluffly. My husband loves them. This recipe is a 5 star recipe.

Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2009
I gave this 4 stars because it was salty. I read the reviews so I was tasting as I went along. I added the Au Jus mix and 1 can of cream of mushroom because it sounded better. I let it cook for about 2 hours and tasted the gravy and found it to be VERY salty. So I added some basic beef stock and garlic powder and let it cook. I tasted it again and found it to be lacking a little something so I added some Kitchen Boquet, It then tasted more like I wanted. After it was all said and done I found the meat to be tender and juicy and the gravy was good served with mashed potatoes.

Roasted Pork Shoulder with Pomegranate Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2009
This was pretty good. I think it was the way I cooked it that left it lacking. I cooked it in my crock pot and I used Pomegranate juice cocktail. I should have used straight Pomegranate juice, maybe it would have tasted better. I will try this again to see if I have more success.

This was soooooo good. I followed the recipe exactly except I only used 6 chicken breasts. I think next time I might hold some of the juice back and at the end add pineapple rings and drizzle some of the juice over them and let them cook with the chicken a little. awsome recipe!

Alaska Salmon Bake with Pecan Crunch Coating

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2009
This was a nice change for dinner. I used a large filet of salmon from Costco and used the advice of marinating the fish in the mustard sauce for and hour. I used half Dijon and half spicy brown mustard. and I used lots of pecans for the topping.
