Spicy Cabbage Kimchi

Submitted by: GochisosamaDeshita
Home Town: Superior, Montana, USA
Living In: Pecatonica, Illinois, USA
Kimchi, a popular Korean dish, is best described as a spicy , slightly sweet, pickled or fermented cabbage. I spent a year in South Korea and fell in LOVE with Kimchi! My friend Myong was kind enough to share her recipe and technique with me. Some ingredients may not be readily available in your local supermarket. Look for Kimchi (Fish) Sauce and Korean chili powder in Asian markets or online. Use kimchi in stir fries or your favorite Korean dishes.

My Mom used to make these hamburger buns all the time. They are so easy to make, light and fluffy as well as beautiful to look at. I get raves whenever I make them. Try using them for sandwich rolls too - delicious!

Busy Day Barbeque Brisket

Submitted by: Shannon :)
Home Town: Choteau, Montana, USA

Brisket is rubbed with spices and liquid smoke and then cooked in a slow cooker with barbeque sauce until tender and juicy. This calls for just enough barbecue sauce for that smoky flavor while still allowing the flavor of the meat to come through.

Venison Steak Strips

Submitted by: Tasha Leah
Living In: Butte, Montana, USA
Thin strips of steak are marinated in a lime and chipotle chili sauce, breaded and then fried in oil. I made this recipe to take the gamey flavor out of venison steaks, but it works great for any type of steaks or even for homemade chicken strips.

Mock Duck

Submitted by: NORSEWOMAN
Home Town: Helena, Montana, USA
Living In: Bismarck, North Dakota, USA
This is an old family recipe that we make every year at my grandmother's house during Christmas time. I use it at my home throughout the year as a simple dinner, or make it and take it to work when I know we'll need a snack after a big rush. Steak can be venison or beef. I grew up using mostly elk steaks.

Super Easy Jelly Doughnuts

Mini jam sandwiches coated in batter and deep fried until puffy and golden brown. You may use any jam you like, or try substituting butter and cinnamon sugar for variety. Either way, the ingredients are almost always on hand, and they reheat in the oven well, too. Couldn't be easier, and the kids will love them!
