Ground Beef Lo Mein

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2008
I thought this was a very creative and delicious way to present a homemade lo mein dish. My family (even my 18 mo. old) ate it up til it was all gone! I definitely will be making this again. Thanks!

Emily's Famous Marshmallows

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2008
I'm giving these as christmas gifts this year and they are super easy and even more tasty! I only let them sit for 2 hours, and cut them out with mini cookie cutters and they turned out fine. After cutting, however, I let them sit for probably 4-5 hours, just so they harden slightly. That way they don't stick to eachother.

Easy Roasted Pork

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2008
Like others did I first browned the outside (in olive oil) after adding garlic and onion powder, salt, black pepper, and dusting of flour. I doubled the recipe of applesauce, brown sugar, and ginger but had a 1.5 lb roast. Cooked in a tightly covered aluminum foil covered baking sheet. Came out great in the time prescribed. I got compliments all around! Great recipe! Thank you.

Chicken Surprise

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2008
It is good, though I followed the other reviewers and added a few more spices. Note that the recipe calls for INSTANT rice. There are other reviews telling you to add water. Only do that if you are NOT using instant rice. Instant needs a 1:1 ratio of water:rice whereas regular rice needs a 2:1 ratio.

Broccoli Beef I

This recipe is great for a easy and quick family meal. My family enjoyed it. We did follow the directions from previous reviewers and doubled the seasoning and broth, although, I think next time we'll only times the broth by 1 1/2 instead. My wife cut the meat into cubes, but after eating it I would have preferred strips. Great quick dinner, highly recommend it.

Easy Lasagna III

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2008
Boy I was expecting a lot more since all the other reviews were so good. I've made lasagna many times before and will stick to my tried and true recipe in place of this one, even though this is easy. My son who loves lasagna wouldn't even take a second bite and was really disappointed since he was looking forward to dinner. It had WAY too much parsely taste, and heavy on the garlic salt too. I think fresh garlic cooked with the meat would have been better. Definitely needed mozarella too. Sorry!

Sweet and Sour Sauce I

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2008
Really good and simple. I agreed with some others that it had a bit too much soy sauce, so next time I'll probably half it. Also, the addition of 1 Tbs. honey was good. Thanks!

Asian Chicken Noodle Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2008
This is a great salad. It's sweet, crunchy, and offers a wide variety of fresh vegetables in the mix. This a salad that goes great as a side dish to any entree or alone in a bowl. My wife and I have made the recipe with and without the chicken and preferred it without chicken as simply a side salad. We changed the recipe a little by decreasing the dressing by half (we noticed there was a lot of dressing pooled in the bottom of the bowl when fully prepared) and replaced pine nuts with slivered almonds (pine nuts are just so expensive). We've shared this salad with family and everyone approved. We will be adding it to our recipe box.

Cheesy Potato and Corn Chowder

Love this chowder on a cold or hot day! DIidn't use the chilis because we didn't have any, and it still tasted great. I think next time I'll add another can of corn though.

1-Dish Chicken Parmesan

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2008
I wasn't a big fan of this dish. I made the recipe as listed and found that there was too much yeast for as little of breading that is prepared. My breading grew over the chicken and the marinara sauce until I had made a chicken marinara pocket. It had the overlying taste of yeast. Not my favorite recipe.

Who knew mayo could be so easy? I used a low fat version and it tasted great! I used brown sugar per other reviewers suggestions, and next time I might mix in a tad bit of sugar with the blueberries. But I like sweets a lot!

Yummy yummy! It was super easy and so rich and tasty! And you can't beat homemade dough vs. store bought. I added vanilla per other suggestions, and added extra cinnamon both in the dough and in the sauce. Definitey a keeper!

Broccoli and Garlic Penne Pasta

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2008
Not the greatest recipe by itself, but I think with a little more tweaking it might work. I used double or more chicken broth and added cornstartch per other reviewers. I also tried adding a little pesto, and that gave it a tad more flavor. Still pretty bland though. I'll try adding more if I ever do decide to make it again, which isn't likely.
