Shortbread Supreme

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2007
These were awesome! I sprinkled colored sugar on these after cutting them out but they would be equally delicious with some frosting which I will definately try. They held up well to cookie cutters especially after putting in the freezer for 10 minutes.

Pepparkakor II

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2007
This recipe is easy and much more shortbread-like than what I remember from childhood. my cookies turned out kind of crispy and soft inside. I added red and green chocolate "buttons" to the little pepparkokor men I made with this recipe and they made nice additions to the cookies I mailed home.

This is a five-star for ease and taste. It's so simple & done really quick and the taste is perfect! Thanks for this super quick, tasty recipe. I'll keep some angel food cake and canned pineapple on hand in case someone gets a sweet tooth we can whip this up in a snap!

Mexican Lasagna

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2007
So good! My husband said this is one of my best dishes so far! I put a layer of refried beans on the bottom, then a layer of corn, then tortillas, diced tomato mixed with taco seasoning & cooked rice for vegetarian version or meat mix, tortillas, salsa, cheese and then topped the finished product with sour cream and tostidos chips.

Microwave Oven Peanut Brittle

This is awesome - a new favorite treat! It's so easy, ready in no time & turned out better than my old-fashioned "do it the long way" recipe for peanut brittle! I will definately make again!!

Convenient Vegetarian Lasagna

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2007
This was pretty good. I left the carrots out because they seemed out of place. Next time I will add mushrooms and more sauce. My husband thought it was a bit dry. I added 1T minced garlic and served with garlic bread. Also I used the steamfresh broccoli which made it very easy.

Sausage Spinach Manicotti

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2007
This recipe is awesome. I made a couple of changes and it turned out great. I added the sausage to the cheese filling instead of the spaghetti sauce. I also added a bar of cream cheese to the cheese filling and it was to die for.

Balsamic Glazed Carrots

If you are looking for a sweet glazed carrot this is NOT your recipe! I made this mistake and got a mouthful of raw carrot + balsamic vinegar = not my taste.

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

I LOVED these. The cheese made it extra rich and delicious. I substituted the traditional fried onions for the ritz mixture & it turned out great! I'm sure this will become and heirloom holiday recipe in our house.

Double Layer Pumpkin Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2007
Really nice recipe. You get all the rich pumpkin pie flavor mixed with the sweet, creamy creme cheese filling. I made this for Thanksgiving and it was the first thing people tried even before the regular pumpkin pie, pecan pie or cookies.

Warm Flourless Chocolate Cake with Caramel Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2007
This was wonderful! I think I cooked the cake too long as it was a little brownie-ish, but it still tasted delicious. I made the caramel sauce exactly as directed and it turned out wonderful! I'll never buy caramel sauce again, I was so pleased with it.:)
