Bacon Wrapped Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
Made this recipe exactly as outlined and the entire family was licking their plates clean! The only suggestion would be as others have said, pre-cook the bacon and crumble it on top, rather than wrapping it. I enjoyed it wrapped, but a couple of the family said they would have preferred it the other way. Great recipe!

Slow Cooker Pork Chops II

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
My family enjoyed this very much. Like some of the reviewers I cooked 1 inch chops for approx. 8 hours. I was surprised that mine came out somewhat dry. I added a 1/4 cup of white wine to the liquid as others suggested, and I would recommend doing that. Not sure what to do to prevent the meat from being dry? Good recipe, will make it again.

Definately not a favorite! The flavor was not at all what i had expected, but I never tried anything like this! My husband was thinking he needed to send me to culinary school after that. Just not our thing i guess.

Skillet Sweet and Tangy Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2009
Too much vinegar! My husband hated the flavor. I thought it was ok. And my 3yr old daughter who loves chicken no matter what you do to it loved it! she ate most of it! She thought it was chicken with runny funny ketchup! And she loves ketchup! so one star is straight from my daughter! Maybe my husband and I just have too high of flavor palats!

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2009
The flavor of this was great! I did add a little more meat only because I had a 3/4 lb package of sausage, and a 1 and 1/2 lb deer burger. I just put it all in and my husband loved it! he said he loved how meaty it was. The one thing i would change in the recipe is to use shredded mozzerella instead of sliced. (it melts better) love the flavors!

Rolled Flank Steak

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2009
"Tastes like an expensive philly!" says my husband! He loved it, and that says a lot because he is a professional cook, and is rarely impressed by a dish. However i switched it up just a little. so i have been trying to find something to do with all my cubesteak off of my deer meat. I think cubesteak is just a tough hamburger not a steak! This recipe was perfect! I used the cubesteak, but i did not roll it! I just put it in a baking dish and covered the dish with tinfoil to cook a little faster. I removed tinfoil after the meat was up to temperature and cooked for another 5 minutes! Again this was an awesome recipe, and is now a permanent monthly meal! Thank you so much!

Extreme Crepes

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2009
I will use this recipe forever! I have a family recipe that is much more complicated than this, so shoving all the ingredients in the blender, letting it sit for a minute for the bubbles to rise out of it, and then i cook the first side of the crepe then flip it, and then i start piling on stuff like cheese, sandwich meat, spinach, olives mushrooms, mayo, tomatoes, avocado, lettuce you name it! then roll it up a little and serve a awesome crepe sandwich! It's a hit with everyone i know! they want me to come to their house and cook! haha Also i switch it up a bit and put peaches and whip cream or apple pie filling with powdered sugar you name it. crepes are endless for ideas! thank you so much for the super easy recipe. I make a batch and keep the left over batter in the blender pitcher and stick it in the fridge! use it for two days! easy as yum!

Lime Chicken Soft Tacos

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2009
Very pleased with how this turned out. I did make some of the modifications listed by others (Cilantro & Cumin rather than Oregano) plus I added a half a pepper and 1/2 TBS of Crushed Red Pepper. It had a great aroma and the chicken was very juicy. Tried both Hard Shell Corn Tortillas & Soft White Flour Tortillas and preferred the Hard Shell.

Tuna Noodle Casserole II

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2008
Awesome! I cooked the noodles and combined all other ingredients minus tuna and added 1/2 c peas, 3T sliced mushrooms, 2 T sliced celery and about 1/4 c cheese. Layered this mixture, cheese, mixture and topped with potatoe chips. When serving I used up all the toasted chips so they wouldn't get soggy & will top leftovers with fresh chips.

Pecan Pie Bars II

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2008
I would give this 50 STARS if I could. I'm not even a big Pecan Pie fan but it's my husbands favorite and for his birthday I thought I'd give this a try (he hates cake). This recipe was simple enough so I thought I'd give it a try. I made it exactly as written and it was DELICIOUS! I froze it for about an hour after cooling it from the oven and it cut into bars fairly easily. If the pan makes it through the weekend I will be very suprised!!!

Breaded, Fried, Softly Spiced Tofu

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2008
I cut the tofu into small half inch square bites and baked it for 15 minutes or so and then soaked in vegetarian vegetable broth, rolled in spices and fried. The result was very nice and crispy and definately had noticable flavor but needed something just right to go with it. I tried light sour cream as a dip (didn't have plain yogurt) but it washed out the flavor even more. After a little hunting I found the Peanut Sauce I recipe at this site and it was AMAZING paired with this. The sauce is super quick, easy and yummy - i subbed honey for molasses and soy sauce for tamari and didn't have to go out to buy a thing. Anyways, thanks for a good base spicy, crunch tofu recipe. I'm sure I will make again when I need a meat substitute for any spicy dish!

Peanut Sauce I

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2008
I substituted soy sauce for tamari and honey for molasses...man are there some odd ingredients in this - super sweet, super salty, super spicy and super sour but the taste is unbelievably good. I made the breaded, fried and softly spiced tofu from this site and it needed something just right to go with it and this was it! Thanks for a super quick, easy and delicious recipe Laura! Will DEFINATELY make again soon!

Crispy Barbequed Tofu Slices

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2008
This is THE BBQ tofu recipe!!! I live in memphis and I swear it's better than any other BBQ anything out there. I did bake for 15 minutes before coating in egg/sauce and flour mix and frying. The tofu was very crispy at that point. I cooled pieces on paper towel to soak up some oil and then coated with Corky's BBQ sauce and placed on a well greased pan and put back in the oven for about 5 minutes. (I'm not sure about broiling) When they came out of the oven I thought they were ruined because they were no longer crispy but I'm telling you the texture is right on! All the consistency of chicken wing meat without big veins hanging out, chunks of cartilege and other assorted nasty things associated with actual meat. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for the first tofu recipe I actually like better than the real thing!!!!
