Daria's Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2009
Wow, this was wonderful. We have two people allergic to mushrooms, so stroganoff is hardly ever eaten by us. Used Cream of Chicken soup and just left mushrooms out, but this was fantastic! Served it over butter egg noodles.

Snow Flakes

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2009
The dough worked great with my cookie press. I used almond extract in place of the orange. I found that baking these on my faberware cookie sheet produced a better cookie where my airbake sheet left them falling apart. This was the first time I made a spritz type cookie and while I am not a fan of the flavor on a regular basis, the still tasted good.

Holiday Peppermint Bark

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2009
Fun! My daughter and I followed the advice of others to do a two-layer bark. We put semi-sweet chocolate on the bottom and then used green mint chips for the top layer. She had fun destroying five candy canes with a hammer. :) Thanks for sharing!!

Coconut Macaroons III

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2009
Amazing! 14 oz. bag makes 5 1/2 c. I've got to try parchment paper next time because aluminum foil just got to stuck to every single one and made it such a pain to peel off. But even so, the macaroons were worth the extra battle with the foil because they are so delicious. Definitely a keeper!

Chocolate Pretzel Rings

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2009
These get a 5 star rating for ease, but they only get a 4 star for flavor and looks. I make chocolate dipped pretzels every holiday season but was to lazy this year and saw this recipe and thought I would give it a try. I personally don't like how the chocolate is in on spot and sort of thick, but the ease of these is tough to beat. I used both milk and white chocolate kisses. For me I will dip my pretzels, for gifts I will make these. So easy!

Avocado Feta Salsa

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2009
Gave this 4 stars since I added lime juice and would be better with cilantro instead of parsely like others said. I used real Bulgarian feta too, not the cheap kind you buy at grocery stores. You have to go to a european store to get the Bulgarian Sheep's Feta. It's worth the money

Cut-Out Cookies by EAGLE BRAND®

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2009
These are the best cut out cookie ever. I had lost by Eagle Brand cookbook and happily found the recipe here. I love that these cookies are so soft, last awhile if they aren't eaten up before I barely get them decorated and the sweetness, or lack of, perfectly balance all that sugary frosting.

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2009
I just tried this recipe yesterday when I was looking for a new variety. JACKPOT!!! I am already having to make more. Moist, great balance of flavors...not too strong. Comes out a little darker than I am used to, but it was absolutely awesome in flavor. Even hubby, who is always saying that any banana bread is too dry loved this and asked where the rest was.

Cinnamon, Spice and Everything Nice Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2009
I have never cooked with molasses, and as soon as I opened the jar I thought, "OMG, these cookies are going to be gross." But I kept on trucking... I followed the recipe as written except I didnt have ginger so I added 4 teaspoons of pumpkin pie spice in place of the ginger and nutmeg. Also, my grocery store was out of cinnamon chips so I used coarsely chopped pumpkin spice hershey kisses in its place. After baking for 10 mins they were ready to come out of the oven. I took a bite, and.... wait for it.... YUMMY! These cookies are thick and chewy and just so pretty. These are going on my Christmas cookie platter:)
