BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
My family thought this was just ok. I will try it again with a different brand of BBQ sauce and maybe add a few spices to jazz it up a little.

Cream Cheese Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
Great recipe! I changed it a little after reading other reviews, I didn't want to risk a soggy crust. I doubled the cream cheese and confectioner's sugar and added 1 tsp of Vanilla. I did not use the whipping cream. My family LOVED this pie, said it was a keeper. Serve with sweetened whipped cream. Will definitely make again! Thanks

Karyn's Cream of Crab Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2008
This recipe is awesome!! A little tweaking though. Definitely add celery and onions in the beginning. Saute then add to soup. Make a roux of the flour and hollandaise. i think it makes a difference. Add a couple dashes of worcheshire sauce(sp). As far as the sherry, I just added some good red wine. My husband and I love this recipe and I am a Maryland girl through and through. Great recipe Karyn!

Hot German Potato Salad III

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2008
This is an awesome recipe! I have made it twice now. I found that 3 pounds of potatoes and twice the sauce is perfect. "9 potatoes" is far too vague. We love bacon so I used a whole pound. I also added a splash more vinegar like some suggested. Very good!!

Beef and Bean Chimichangas

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2008
To even get my family to try this, I followed another's advice and used diced green chilies instead of the green pepper and because my husband also dislikes onion, I had to cut it back to just a couple of tablespoons. The flavor of the spices was just right, but not for those who only like their Mexican food mild. Thanks for the great recipe!

Cheesy Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2008
I made this according to the recipe the first time I made this, and then made some changes the next time. Definitely leave out the sugar!! I added salt and pepper, a good amount of dill weed, some pickle juice (yeah sounds weird, but good!) and some paprika. I used a pound of real bacon, crumbled. I took it to a party today and it was devoured! Everyone loved it! I think I may try adding some finely chopped red onion next time too!

Cottage Cheese Loaf II

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2008
I have rarely found a recipe on here this bad! It was edible but gluey and blah! Even tried topping it with salsa to help it. I wish it had tasted like it sounded. It was more like oatmeal. I googled Cottage Cheese Loaf and found some much better sounding dishes! Sorry!

Grandma's Five Cup Salad

I have been making this recipe since I was first married 20 years ago! It is awesome just the way it is written. It's best if you make it a day ahead though. Make sure to drain the friut very well so there is no runny stuff in the bottom of the bowl.

Lemon Cake with Lemon Filling and Lemon Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2008
I followed another's advice and just made a white box cake mix. I made the curd and the frosting according to the directions. The curd was excellent! The frosting was a little too sweet for me, but my company loved it. All around, a good recipe. Thanks!

Dawn's Candied Walnuts

Excellent, family and friends loved them. I used almonds instead of walnuts and the second time I made it I added a tablespoon of butter to the mixture while it was still cooking, which made it taste even better.

I have never really liked corn bread but this is really good. I make it when I make slow cooker chili. I followed other reviewers and added 1/4 cup more of sugar.

Best Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
This is such a great recipe. I usually add more tuna and cream of mushroom soup. The potato chips are not very good reheated, so I would sprinkle it one an individual portion instead of over all of it. It is even great without the chips. My fiance loves it when I make tuna casserole!

I was shocked that this was so good. I had some leftover rice and I thought I would try it. It was great. I didn't feel like grating a carrot and it was still tasty.

My fiance and I really loved this. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I thought the tomato flavor was a little too strong. I added a 1/4 cup of chicken broth and a couple tablespoons of white wine. I used turkey keilbasa. I served it over white rice. D-lish!

Mock Chicken Fried Steak

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2007
This is soooo good! I did make a couple of changes. I brushed the patties with egg and then pressed the cracker crumbs in. Like others, I had to keep cleaning out the skillet to get rid of burnt breading. Kept done ones on a rack on a cookie sheet in the oven at 300F while cooking the rest to keep warm. I used two eggs in the meat mixture. Did not need to be cooked 7 minutes... only until nicely browned. I made up a packet of Country Gravy and had mashed potatoes and corn. True comfort food! Will definately make again!

Spinach Manicotti

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2007
This is totally awesome! I made this for dinner tonight. I didn't make any changes. I did have leftover ricotta mixture, so I just spread it over the top before baking. I filled the manicotti shells with a pastry press. It was a two person job, but was easy that way. My family isn't really into meatless meals, but we didn't even notice there wasn't any! Definitely a make again thing!!! Yummy!
