Jerky Lover's Jerky - Sweet, Hot and Spicy!

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it!!! Followed the recipe exactly, but changed the cooking method. We are using elk and have made 6 batches so far. I take the sliced up elk and boil it for about 3 minutes. I then drain it and put it into the marinade immediately and marinate it for 3 hours. And then dehydrate it. It only takes 2 hours to dry this way. EVERYONE in my family loves it. Thanks for sharing!

These are really delicious! They are super easy to make and turned out beautiful! I used them for a pulled pork that I made but they were even better as a roll.

Island Barbecue Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2009
Family loved it. Didn't have time to marinate overnight so poked lots of holes with a fork and made marinade extra thick by using only 1 cup water and added 1/2 cup corn syrup. Blackened the thighs on the grill. Flipped several times basting each time. Finished them off in the oven at 400F about 15-20 minutes.

Delicious! I don't like peanut butter so these are perfect! I did add about a 1/2 cups of coconut and they were FANTASTIC!

Homemade Vanilla Pudding

This pudding is FANTASTIC!! I just made it with the changes that other people suggested...cold milk into dry ingredients and I put a little cinnamon in it. It was so delicious my two year old was licking it off the counter top! I will be making this simple but delicious recipe again!

Roast Pork

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2009
We LOVED this! I cooked this in the crock pot for 8 hours and didn't marinate is at all. I only used 1/2 c. of sugar instead of 3/4 c. I used 5 fresh squeezed limes. I think it could have used a little more soy sauce. After it cooked all day, I boiled rice and made gravy out of the sauce that it had been cooking in all day. It was wonderful. Everyone loved it!

My family LOVED it! I didn't have self rising flour so used regular flour and a teas. of baking powder. I didn't put in nutmeg. I added vanilla. I was worried about it being too sweet, but it was perfect. I served it w/ vanilla bean ice cream. WONDERFUL!

Old Fashioned Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2009
This is the best potato salad I have ever had! I only had 1/4 cup of sweet relish and I also added a bit more mayo. This will be one I make again! Update: I made this again and I had the whole 1/2 cup of sweet relish... YUCK! It is way too sweet! I will stick with the 1/4 cup of relish!

Milo's Torch Cafe Original Idaho Finger Steaks

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2009
So... we REALLY liked these. BUT.. next time I will be adding garlic salt or garlic powder to them. The batter definitely needs to be refrigerated. It makes a leathery like shell on the finger steaks. We live in the Boise area so we just might need to head over there and try these out. I made the Blooming Onion and Dipping Sauce to go along with it. The finger steaks in that dipping sauce is great!

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: May 7, 2009
I really didn't enjoy this bread. I wanted to make it as intended, with no changes. (The only change I made was to cook it about 30 mins longer.) I ended up with a semi-decent tasting bread...on top of a rubbery layer of banana mush that had sunk to the bottom! Way too many bananas! Also, it needs some sort of spices - nutmeg? Cinnamon? Something. I will stick to my all-time fav recipe for banana bread...

Chicken Tacos

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2009
My husband LOVED, LOVED, LOVED these!!I didn't have lemonade, so I used lemon juice and water. I added cumin also. I simmered it until it started falling apart. pretty close to the end of the simmering added a handful cilantro. The cilantro was essential!! really made the flavor! We served them on warm flour tortillas w/ fresh cilatro, chopped onion, rice and bean (on the shell), plus I used a tomatillo green sauce that I bought at a local Mexican restuarant. My husband used their spicier red sauce on his. FABULOUS!! We will be eating these often!

Pan Sauteed Chicken with Vegetables and Herbs

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2009
I used boneless, skinless chicken breasts instead of bone-in. In the flour mix, I added garlic salt, celery salt and rosemary leaves (they were sitting on the counter and sounded good). Everything else I did the same. My family loved it and I will make it a regular. It's not just chicken and vegetables like another reviewer said. The seasonings and the lemon juice liven up the veggies. The onions tasted like candy... the words of my 8 year old. A wonderful change from plain old chicken and best of all, I had all the ingredients in my cupboard.

Sweet Pea Mockamole

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2009
ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!! I can't believe have good this stuff is! IT's the only way my husband will eat his peas. I added 1/2 a jalepeno, a little more onion, more lemon juice, less oil, about 1 c. of cilantro and about 6 grape tomatoes. I will NEVER go back to avacado guacamole again.
