Artichoke Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2009
This was really good. I did make some changes that is why I have a 4 star review. This is a great base recipe. The changes I made are as follows. I added 1/2 cup of fresh chopped spinach, I used just 1/4 cup of Mayonnaise (helmans light) and the rest light sour cream. I added salt and black pepper and garlic powder to the mixture (just to taste not sure on the amounts). I also added two tablespoons of panko bread crumbs for texture to the mixture. I also seasoned my chicken with salt and pepper before adding topping. After adding topping on chicken I sprinkled panko bread crumbs on top of each breast to add a little crunchiness to the topping. Loved it!!!

Baked Dijon Salmon

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2009
This is awesome! I used panko bread crumbs because I like the light texture they add. Also I used unsalted butter. Perfect. Thank you for sharing. This is my new go to recipe for salmon, especially if I am going to have guests over.

Butternut Squash and Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2009
This was great chili. I'm not a huge chili fan and neither is my youngest son, but this went over great. The only thing I did different was add 2 cups of water instead of the 1/2 cup (totally by accident, but worked out good). Everyone in the house loved it and wants me to make it more often! Great Job.

Creamy Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2009
This is so simple and tasty. even my picky 14 yr old ate it and asked for seconds. I have 5 kids and I had very little to make dinners for the week. I typed in chicken breasts and cream of chicken soup and got this recipe. I love this website! I had a small box of chicken flavored rice-a-roni type stuff. So I made that and white rice. Then mixed the two together and served the chicken with gravy over the rice. I was not in the mood for chicken but this made it great. I think it would also be great to mix chopped mushrooms or other vegies. I did add a little water and sour cream to the soup before topping the chicken. This would also be good with cream of mushroom soup and even porkchops. You can keep it simple or spice it up with other items. Very versitle.

Delicious Stuffed Potato Pancakes

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2009
these were really good. But I was not sure if the meat should be cooked before adding, so I cooked the meat before adding the egg and bread crumbs to be on the safe side. My kids liked them esp since they could eat them with their hands. I was a little impatient waiting to flip them becasue I was in a hurry, so I put them in the oven until I was done cooking them all to make sure they cooked thru. I will be making these again. I think I will try usung sausage and them freezing them. They would be great to reheat for a quick breakfast on the go.

Cake Balls

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2009
My husband and I made these together. I did need much more chocolate than the resipe said. I used a cake mix with pudding and they were very much like gooey brownies. They were very good. We served them with ice cream also. Next time I will try them with a cake mix that does not have pudding as suggested. I also want to try a yello cake with vanilla frosting and covered in chocolate. These would be great for kids school parties.

Homemade Pancake Syrup

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2009
This recipe is amazing. I left out the maple flavoring as most did and replaced it with the vanilla. I use this on homemade waffles and it is so very good. I think it is much better than store bought. I made up extra and keep it in a jar in the frig and then warm it when needed. YUMMY!

Waffles I

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2009
I have made these waffles several times now. They are amazing! My kids love them. I will never use a package mix again. I have made strawberry syrup and peach syrup to go with them, but the best is the homemade syrup I found on this site. Together they are like heaven.

Chinese Noodle Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2009
This was great! I used ramen noodles and cooked them slightly but did not use the seasoning. I added minced garlic and fresh ginger and used the homemade teriyaki sauce another reader suggested. My kids loved it. Even my VERY picky 4 yr old tried the noodles and broccoli! I will make this again very soon.

Asian Avocado

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
Grocery store had avocados on sale for 88cents each so I was looking for recipes and found this one and glad I did. What a change from just plain old avocados. I love this recipe. It is perfect. I did add a small squeeze of lime juice to the mix. Thanks for this new twist on avocados!

Strawberry Crepes

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2009
Delicious! My only problem was my crepes were too thick and my skillet wasn't as "non-stick" as I thought. But that was the fault of the cook, not the recipe. I'll be making this again.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2009
I thought this sounded weird, root beer and pork?? I tried it based on the reviews and I was not disappointed. This is very good. I did add 1 small onion coarsely chopped and two cloves of garlic, smashed, to the broth to add some extra flavor. The pork was tender, sweet and flavorful. What a super easy way to cook pulled pork. I will definitely make this again.

Irresistible Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2008
This is such a great recipe. I have made this for the last three thanksgivings and always get great compliments. I don't make my own pie crust because I am lazy so I use a frozen one, Marie Callenders is the best, no one ever complains about the frozen crust either. I do add foil around the crust to keep it from burning and take it off towards the end to let the edges get golden brown. I also add a splash of bourbon and a teaspoon of good quality vanilla extract. This pie bakes perfect every time. Thanks for the recipe, this is definitely a keeper.

Sloppy Joe Sandwiches

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2008
This is the best sloppy joe recipe I have made from scratch. My family loved them, and we had the leftovers the next day for lunch and they were even better. I was out of ketchup so I used a can of rotel tomatoes and tomato paste to make a "ketchup" and they were really good this way. Because of the rotel, there were chunks of tomatoes, which I liked and they had a little spice to them which is always nice. Thanks for the recipe!!!

Butter Cream Frosting II

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2008
I love this frosting! Best I have ever had. Thanks for the recipe. My family loves it too. Only changes I made were to use real butter and I used half and half instead of milk. I also added three tablespoons of half and half at the end because I wanted the frosting to be a little smoother.

Black Bean Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2008
Wow, thanks for this recipe. Very fresh and healthy. I made a few changes: used olive oil instead of Italian dressing, used red onion instead of green onion, used one can of corn (that is all I had, next time I will use two cans), used a little less cilantro. I served this with grilled chicken ( and had a huge plate of it for lunch the next day). YUMMY!!!

Oven Roasted Red Potatoes and Asparagus

Reviewed: May 27, 2008
Thanks for the recipe. I had this dish at a baby shower this past weekend and loved it so I had to find it. This was the closest I found and it was wonderful! I did not have red potatoes, only yukon gold, so I used them and it turned out just as great. We had garlic on our shrimp that I served with this dish, so I left it out of this recipe and it was super fresh and still good without the garlic. I only cooked the asparagus for about 7 minutes because I like mine still crunchy. Perfect.
