Famous Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2009
The chicken was very moist, but that was the only good thing about it. The flavor was too sweet, or salty, or something was just off with the flavor. I really just didn't like it, and neither did my kids, I don't think I will make this again.

Ian's Potato-Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2009
Excellent recipe, I followed some of the other suggestions and added three cheese tortellini's, as well as chopping some of the celery tops into the mixture, gives the recipe a rich look. I also doubled the recipe but included one can of beef broth mixed in with the five cups of water and I still added the beef cubes. With a family of four I thought there would be leftovers, and there was but not much . . .just enough for my lunch the next day. The basic recipe is good enough but you could be creative with this one. One example would be to add green chiles for some spice, maybe next time it was good the way it is.

My Amish Friend's Caramel Corn

Very, very good. Just let the brown sugar mixture come to a boil over medium heat - it will take some time. I used the brown bag method and it worked well with my hubby shaking the bag as I poured in the mixture.

Pumpkin Bread IV

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2008
I made this bread as directed except I used 1 cup oil and 1/2 cup applesauce. I made mini loaves for teachers. I cut one to sample. My kids said "we don't think we like pumpkin bread". I told them to just try it. "We likey the pumpkin bread" they shouted! Yipee - another keeper from Allrecipes. Thanks for sharing this great recipe.

Sweet 'N' Sour Meat Loaf

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2008
This is a great recipe, even my daughter liked it, and they ate the whole meatloaf. I was looking forward to left-over’s but nooooo . . . they ate it all! My daughter has never liked meatloaf but last night she could not stop talking about how good this meatloaf was. I love meatloaf almost any recipe will do for me, I always look forward to the first sandwich from the left over’s, but not this time. I followed the recipe with the exception I used 1.68 LBS of hamburger and 1.0 LB of ground pork, only because that was how it was packaged at the store. GREAT RECIPE !!!

Cowboy Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2008
Hello Everyone - This is an excellent recipe that makes a great alternative to the good ole standard mashed potato recipe. Not only does the color and texture look good, but it taste great too. I only used one hot pepper and could not taste any spice, but the next time I may use two or three if I want the mixture to be spicy. Don't get me wrong I liked the recipe just the way it is, but sometimes I like to spice things up a little. GREAT RECIPE!!!

Amish Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2008
LOVE IT!!! Will make over and over again. Only things I changed was increasing the eggs to 9 simply to make it go a little further.I also added garlic to my bacon & onions and I added a dash of cayenne pepper. My neighbor who hates cheese loved this and can't wait for me to make it again. Took it to work and only had crumbs left over. VERY VERY GOOD- and SUPER SIMPLE

Slow Cooker Reuben Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2008
VERY GOOD!! Everyone at work loved this! I barely had to clean the slow cooker it was scraped so clean. I completely forgot to add the cream cheese so it wasn't as creamy & dip like as it could have been but everyone still loved it. Next time I will be sure to add the cream cheese - I can only imagine it will add to the flavor. Did take the advice of increasing the Thousand Island dressing which turned out to be a good thing since I forgot the cream cheese.

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2008
This was an awesome base to start from. I did tweak a little bit though... added garlic salt & pepper to taste. Couldn't find can of condensed onion soup so used packet of Lipton french onion soup mix. Used closer to 20oz of beer, added approx. 2 tbsp of au just concentrate. Sounds like a lot of changes but it really wasn't. Even my super picky daughter loved it. The meat was still very moist and very tender. Will deffinitely be making this one again and again.

Sweet n Sour Country Style Ribs

This without exception one of my favorite recipes. The prep time is short and the cooking time just makes the house smell so good. Your guest or family will smell the meal the minute they walk into the house. If there are left overs they will not last more than one day.

This was a great-tasting marinade if you want a simple sesame Asian flavor! Nice balance of sweet and salty. I used it not as a grilling but a stir-fry saute marinade and it came out absolutely delicious.

Ice Cream Cone Treats

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2008
I made these to take to work on Valentine's Day and everyone loved them. I experimented a little with the amount to put in each cone, and I think I only filled them half full before baking. I used large nut cups turned upside down with an "X" cut in the bottom to prop them up while baking. I frosted them with the Fluffy White Frosting recipe from this site, which was perfect as it was shiny like ice cream, held its shape very well, and wasn't too rich so I could add a fair amount to the top without it being gross.

Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting

I actually had to add more sugar in order to keep the frosting stable on the ginger cupcakes I made. I took them to work and everybody raved, and I personally didn't find it too sweet either. I'll use this recipe again!
