Beef Stroganoff III

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2008
I don't rate five stars unless I LOVE it!!! My husband LOVED this and couldn't put his fork down to breathe!! I was very happy!! I did however had on hand left over Christmas prime rib and had enough for two people. I cut it into strips and cooked it with the onions and followed the rest of recipe exact. I didn't have any white wine but I assure you it tasted FANTASTIC without it!! I will try the wine next time, I was wanting to add it to this recipe but had none to use. But this recipe is my replacement for my other recipe with the ground beef and cream of mushroom soup base. No more!! This recipe has changed my direction on how to do it right!!! Thank you!!!!

Mix-Easy Oatmeal-Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
Fabulous idea this is my second time cooking these in 2 weeks. My roommate ate them all in a day! 375 is little too hot for these so I dropped the temperature to 350 and cook them for 12 minutes or so. They come out a little soft but cool off nicely. I also used the highest rack setting so the bottoms would not burn. The second time I tried carrot cake mix and chocolate chips, fantastic. I will try chocolate cake mix with the next batch. Great recipe!

Savory Grilled Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2008
Absolutely the best potato recipe EVER! My boyfriend begs for these every time we grill! I usually have to double or even triple the recipe since we just gobble these up! I always add some extra garlic for the flavor. My boyfriend loves to sprinkle some sharp cheddar on the potatoes when they are done, too!

Spicy Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2008
Absolutely delicious and easy to make! This is our favorite chicken recipe! Instead of vegetable oil, I always use olive oil, I just this the flavor is better. And I never seem to have any limes on hand, so I just add some lime juice. So flavorful and juicy!

My family really enjoyed this meal. We even had a neighborhood kid eating with us and he said its the best meal he had had in a long time. My kids are really picky and everyone cleaned their plates.

This meal was simple and easy, but not as great as I thought it would be. I would change a few things if I were to cook it again.

I used fresh mushrooms instead, and I sauteed them. I also used a little more flour to make the gravy thicker. This was very good and my boyfriend loved it!

My family loved it. On a side note, this makes way more dough than you need for a single 12 inch pizza.

Peach Cobbler VI

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2008
Okay, I read most of the reviews and this cobbler is divided depending on your own tastes. I made this twice over the weekend. The first time I made this I followed it exact and baked it in a 9x13 pan and my family devored it before I had a chance to get a little bite! I found it to be a bit mushy like and I did bake it longer than what the recipe called for. BUT I found it very yummy!! The next day we were invited over for dinner with the parents and I was to make dessert. My husband said I had to make this for dessert so off to the store I went to buy more canned peaches. This time I decided to double the entire recipe becuase we had a bunch to feed and I added a 1/2 cup more flour and a little nutmeg with the cinnamon. I had to bake it in a 9x13 which was perfect to use and baked it for about 50-55 minutes since the recipe was doubled. It turned out better than the first try just following the recipe as was. I really liked the recipe as is and I don't rate unless I find it to be five stars and before I made it a second time my rating was five stars!! I WILL make this again!! If you want the cake part to be more cakier than add a little more flour. I thought it was fabulous doubled so there you are!! I am usually a bisquit-y cobbler person but this was wonderful!! Thank you!!

Homemade Pancake Syrup

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2008
Oh Man!! You saved the day with this recipe!! I thought I'd try it, I didn't have any in the house and my waffles were already made and I am amazed!! I had never made homemade syrup before and was not certain if I wanted to try this after seeing my sister make syrup when I was younger, it was like flavored sugar water! So see my excitment when I made this and it turned out beautifully!!! Thank you!! I will make this syrup all the time now. No more store bought, this recipe holds it own and is SOOOO easy to make!!

Zucchini Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2008
I was very disappointed with this recipe. I followed the instructions to the letter and my brownies were still undercooked in the middle and hard around the edges. The brownies never poofed, they were still very condensed. The zucchini wasn't hidden at all, it was very obvious that there was zucchini in the brownies.

Cheese-Stuffed Jalapenos

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2008
It got only three stars for boiling the peppers. It made them tasteless and squishy. Luckily we left half of them raw which was perfect, 5 Stars. The baking process will make them mild but not squishy and tasteless. AND as others mentioned during the boiling process it is hard to breath in your house from the hot oil being released into the air so that is another good reason to not boil. The longer you bake them the milder they are so if you want mild just bake them longer.

Triple-Cheese Macaroni

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2008
This gets 5 stars from my husband, 6yr old and I but the 2yr old, 4yr old and 7yr old gave it a thumbs down BUT I was the same way as a child I only liked the boxed stuff. I am trying to get the kids to like the home made stuff and since one kid liked it I was excited. I followed the directions exact except I added extra cheese. I would say it serves more then 6 as well. We had two adults and 5 kids and we ate about half.
