Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
To Die For!!! I made this last fall, and twice in the last week. Everyone raves over this soup. So good and rich. Smooth and creamy. Warms you up on fall nights. I follow the recipe exactly as written. I always use all the cream cheese. I plan on making this as a vegetarian option at my Halloween chili party this year. I will be making a double batch though, because I will guarantee you every non-veggie will want it too!! I use an immersion blender and blend it right in the pot. Velvety smooth. :)

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
Just as the name declares... These ARE the best rolled sugar cookies! So perfect! I always follow the recipe exactly as written. They bake beautifully thick and nice, stay the nice light color without browning. My one and only sugar cookie recipe. Decorated perfectly with the "sugar cookie icing by JBS BOX" Christmas cookies will never be the same in my house again! So beautiful you almost hate to eat them! Almost :)

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
This is the recipe I have been looking for forever!! When my cookies are frosted with this icing, they always look professional. I always get compliments, and even feel bad eating them when they look so beautiful! I don't change a thing. I use liquid food coloring without a problem as well. My only icing recipe! Christmas cookies will never be the same! ( I use "The best rolled sugar cookies" recipe with this.)

Simple Scones

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
Perfect every time. I never change the recipe at all. I use my food processor and add dried cranberries and orange peel. I always make the orange butter to go along with the scones. I don't usually care for scones at the coffee shops, they always seem to be somewhat dry. These are perfect every time! A keeper!

This was good but not great. It smelled lovely but nobody in my family cared for the taste and we like balsamic vinegar.

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2009
We love banana bread and this recipe did not disappoint! Very dense bread and pretty to serve. I added a bit of cinnamon and some walnuts but it would have been tasty as written. I made this the night before for Saturday breakfast. **Banana bread is better when it rests for a few hours after baking.

Asian Salmon

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2009
I had high hopes for this salmon and made Asian-inspired sides to have with it, but it just didn't do it for me. My boyfriend and daughter liked it which is why I am giving it 4 stars, but I have found much better salmon recipes on this site. Thanks anyway.

These had a great flavor, but they burned quite easily. I am not sure if I made the wedges too large and therefore they had to cook longer then they should have. I will probably try again and cut the wedges smaller.

Fra Diavolo Sauce With Pasta

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2009
This was good. I wasn't sure if the recipe was calling for canned tomatoes or fresh so I used canned and added two fresh ones. I think I pureed the tomatoes too much because there weren't any chunks and I like it when there are some chunks of tomato in there. I also only used shrimp because that is what I had. It was delicious and I will definitely be making again.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

10 stars!!! This was so good and so easy. I used K.C. Masterpiece Honey BBQ sauce and followed the recipes exactly. I made bbq sandwiches and had cole slaw with them and wanted more today, but we ate it all last night! Will definitely be adding to our rotation. I am pretty sure this will freeze well also. Thanks so much for the recipe!
