Sloppy Joes II

Easy. Quick. Taste Great!!! What more can you ask for from a sloppy joe recipe? This recipe deserves quality buns, not cheap $1 buns!

Emily's Famous Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2007
Great recipe! However Sloppy Joes II is a bit easier and just as good if not better. This recipe does have a different flavor that is a nice change from most sloppy joe recipes. It's not chili, that's for sure. It is definitely worth a try!!!

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2007
This was a great, basic alfredo recipe, much better than others I have tried. I altered it slightly, adding three cloves of minced garlic to the butter for about 2 minutes, before stirring in the cream, cheese, etc. I also threw in some chopped fresh spinach towards the end. I had earlier diced fresh chicken and cooked it up in a little garlic, salt, and pepper, and then added this in right at the end to warm it back up again. It was wonderful! My husband, who isn't a huge pasta fan, asked for seconds and even took it for lunch the next day!

Indiana-Style Fried Cabbage

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2007
this was great!! Even my picky/non-veggie eating 3 year old ate it (have to give it 5 stars just because of that!!). Made it from memory cause I did not have my computer at the time and made it a bit different. I cut up the bacon first then fried it semi crisp. then sauted all ingredients (except for the cabbage) for about 15 minutes in a cast iron skillet, then added the cabbage. My husband and myself loved it and it is a definate keeper. Next time I will make it by the cooking directions just to see if it is any better.

Oven Roasted Greek Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2007
I made this and found it to be wonderful. The only thing I changed was to par boil the potatoes before hand (after reading other reviews that the potatoes were not cooked completely thru). Ended up marinating for about 18 hours as we had a grandbaby born the day in which these were intended. I Think because they were partially cooked before marinated helped to ensure they soaked up the flavor. Super Yummy!!! Took some to the hospital for my daughter and she really liked!! By the way, beautiful baby boy!!!!

Crunchy Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2007
I made this recipe for my family and we loved it. It was very simple to make most ingredients we all have on hand. I omited the almonds simply because my husband does not like nuts! Next time I will probably decrease the mayonnaise by about a 1/4 of a cup and increase the cream of chicken soup by about a 1/4 of a cup. Other than that it is so delicious. Great comfort food. Would be great for a potluck or to take to a sick friend. Will definitely make this again and again.

Simple, Classic Chicken Potpie

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2007
This is a wonderful recipe, I served it when company came over and was surprised when we didn't have any leftovers!!! I roasted my own chicken and I also made my own crusts, which added to the already great taste of the pies. I used frozen baby sweet peas and fresh baby carrots (which I diced pretty small), which gave the meal a naturally rich flavor. Although it took me a bit longer to put together because I did my own chicken and crusts, it's the perfect Sunday dinner!

Creamy Sourdough Snack

How wonderful!! I made this for a poker party and it was awesome. The second time I made it I used shredded ham and a very generous dash of crushed red pepper...just for a bit of 'zing'. I have been ordered to make it again for the Super Bowl party.

Yummy Sweet Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2006
Very good! I accidentally made way too many potatoes, but it turned out very good anyway. I ended up doubling the topping, which was fantastic. One note, I read several times in reviews that the topping would not "crumble" as the recipe states. The recipe also states to make the crumble topping with softened butter...This is not the best approach. If you want your topping to crumble - use cold butter, right out of the fridge. Crumbles everytime. Also helps to mix the crumble topping with your hands instead of a utensil.

Peanut Sesame Chicken with Mushrooms

Very very good. I use cashews instead of peanuts, and I keep some chicken broth on hand to give the dish some extra sauce. I've made this several times...And am planning to make again for dinner tonight.

Crispy Orange Beef

The flavor was good despite the fact that I got a little generous with the orange peel. The coating was kind of difficult to get to stay on the beef. The dish was good however I probably won't make again.

Fanatastic! I've never made banana bread before and this turned out wonderful. Since I only had 3 ripe bananas I halved the recipe, and I had to cook for 10 extra minutes. Otherwise I made exactly as directed. Will make again...very very soon. :-)
