MMMM! Such a simple recipe - such a yummy sandwich. Made me wonder why I hadn't thought of this myself. What a good idea!

Piping my liquidy batter with a makeshift-ziploc baggie pastry bag produced puddles on my parchment paper. I poured the batter into my madeleine pan and they turned out great. Very tasty little cookies perfect for tiramisu.

Chili I

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2009
This chili is spectacular. I followed the recipe exactly except in a few instances. 1. I browned the ground beef and sirloin in a separate pan so I could drain the grease. 2. I halved the amount of brown sugar. 3. I used a can of peeled, diced tomatoes with jalapenos and Anaheim chiles instead of hot peppers. Chickening out on the peppers is my only regret. My chili didn't have the heat I wanted. Next time I'll use hot peppers. Otherwise, it was fantastic!

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2009
I've made this three times in one week - it's that good. My husband says this is the best cornbread he's ever had. I didn't change anything in this recipe and don't ever plan to - it's perfect. This will become a staple in my house. Thanks so much for posting it!

Absolutely Fabulous!!!!!!!!! This is one of the greatest things I have ever made! I followed the recipe exactly-except took one person's advice and brushed the crust with egg whites. No other changes were necessary. I am definitely going to add this to my recipe box!!

Balsamic Roasted Pork Loin

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2009
I made this last night for my family. I only had 1/4 cup of olive oil so I halved the marinade recipe and used a 3 lb boneless pork loin roast. The marinade actually seemed quite sufficient. I chopped a whole white onion and put it on the bottom of my crock-pot, followed by about 5 quartered red potatoes and then the roast w/ marinade. I cooked it on high for 2 hours, then put to low for 4 more (until internal temp was 170.) With about 2 hours remaining, I added a few handfuls of baby carrots. Roast and veggies had good flavor but roast was a little on the dry side... could be from halved marinade? I strained the juices in the pot and made a gravy but will just use a jar of pork gravy next time as what I made was too tangy for our tastes due to the balsamic vinegar.

Cherry Chicken Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2008
I've made theis recipe twice and the whole family enjoyed it both times. Even my 2 young (picky)children will eat the filling. It's good topped with crunchy noodles for a little extra something. I do have to be in the mood as it takes quite a bit of prep work/time but is worth it. The second time I made it, I pitted and split the cherries earlier in the day and just stuck them in the fridge until ready to use.

Tiramisu II

I love tiramisu and thinking I could never make it well have been reluctant to even try. This turned out FANTASTICALLY! My mom, also a tiramisu-lover, raved about it. I followed the recipe to the letter. It was so easy to make I was sure I did something wrong and it would be terrible...until that first bite. HEAVEN! Thank you so much for posting this!

My husband loved it so I'll make it again, but I was not impressed. After adding garlic and peppers it was still incredibly bland. I will try some of the other suggestions next time I make this dish.

This recipe is universal. You could eat it cold or warm it up and use with grilled chicken or fish. Goes great with brown rice when you add a little bit of honey to heated bb&c salad.

Salisbury Steak

I thought this was a good recipe...however, I am a single male, and haven't tried many other recipes. Mods that I made were around the gravy...I love packaged brown gravy, so I spiced it up with spicy brown mustard and worchestershire sauce, and the rest of the condensed onion soup that I used in the meat...delicious!!!

French Toast Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2007
Really yummy, super quick and easy to make! I increased the cinnamon as suggested by other reviewers and mixed all the sugar and cinnamon in with the egg mixture before pouring it over the bread so the cinnamon would be tasted all the way through. I baked it for 47 minutes. MUST watch it toward the end as it's a fine line between soggy mess and burned top.

Joey's Peanut Butter Cookies

My husband absolutely loved these cookies. So much so that he is taking them to work to enter in his teams cookie contest. Only change I made was I added almost a whole bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips. I would have used the whole bag but there just wasn't any extra room for more chips in the dough.

Great recipe! However Sloppy Joes II is a bit easier and just as good if not better. This recipe does have a different flavor that is a nice change from most sloppy joe recipes. It's not chili, that's for sure. It is definitely worth a try!!!

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2007
This was a great, basic alfredo recipe, much better than others I have tried. I altered it slightly, adding three cloves of minced garlic to the butter for about 2 minutes, before stirring in the cream, cheese, etc. I also threw in some chopped fresh spinach towards the end. I had earlier diced fresh chicken and cooked it up in a little garlic, salt, and pepper, and then added this in right at the end to warm it back up again. It was wonderful! My husband, who isn't a huge pasta fan, asked for seconds and even took it for lunch the next day!

Indiana-Style Fried Cabbage

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2007
this was great!! Even my picky/non-veggie eating 3 year old ate it (have to give it 5 stars just because of that!!). Made it from memory cause I did not have my computer at the time and made it a bit different. I cut up the bacon first then fried it semi crisp. then sauted all ingredients (except for the cabbage) for about 15 minutes in a cast iron skillet, then added the cabbage. My husband and myself loved it and it is a definate keeper. Next time I will make it by the cooking directions just to see if it is any better.
