Adrienne's Cucumber Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2009
Yummy! I halved the recipe and used a whole onion. Marinated all day. Served it with the slow cooker buffalo chicken sandwiches. It was really tasty and went well with the sandwich!

Monkey Bread V

Reviewed: May 31, 2009
I am teaching my kids how to cook and we decided to try this recipe. It was super kid friendly and easy. Turned out beautiful and tasted yummy! We made it exactly except we had two different kinds of biscuits on hand - wheat and a flaky butter. Still turned out great!

Grandma's Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: May 30, 2009
We made this recipe in my pre-k class for a unit on friendship. I called it friendship soup and each child brought in an ingredient. It was a cinch to make and very tasty. Out of the 11 kid only one would not try it. The 10 kids who did loved it with several asking for seconds. The only changes I made was I used V8 juice in place of the tomato and added to cans of vegetable broth. We did not season with salt, pepper and ginger as the V8 gave it a lot of flavor. I am making it tonight for my family.

Blue Cheese Burgers

Reviewed: May 26, 2009
I have been making something like this for a while now. I use lots of bleu cheese crumples and add chopped, drained green chilies from the can. I also top with pepper jack cheese ( for the spice lovers in the family). Just hamburger, green chilis, blue cheese, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and the pepper jack! Delicious and creamy!!

Maple Dill Carrots

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2009
Yum! I used 1 lb. of baby carrots. I didn't have fresh dill but I did use 3/4 tsp. dried dill that my Mom grew in her garden. I cut way back on the pepper for my kids, just a few pinches. The carrots had excellent flavor! It's a keeper!

2-Step Garlic Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
I thought this was five stars with some alterations I made from other reviewers suggestions. I used 6 boneless pork chops, 2 cans of garlic mushroom soup, I used 3 large cloves of garlic, seasoned the chops with garlic powder and black pepper and added an 8 oz can of sliced mushroom and a big handful of fresh chives to the sauce. It was super yummy with rice and green beans. Lots of gravy, flavorful and tender.

Amazing Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2009
I gave this recipe four stars for how easy it was to make and how tender the chicken was. It didn't have a lot of flavor though. I will still keep it in my rotation and try to spice it up some next time. I thought a slice of tomatoe and a slice of swiss on top and under the broiler for a minute might be tasty and I could leave it plain for the kids!

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2009
I omitted the shortening from the recipe; the chocolate was thicker to dip still worked out fine. One tip: I put my dipped strawberries in the freezer to set the chocolate since the temp inside my kitchen was a little warm. BIG MISTAKE! I went off and forgot them in there and ruined the fruit (obviously)...Next time I'll just put them in the fridge.

Absolutely Fabulous Greek/House Dressing

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2009
This is an easy, delicious dressing. I was looking for a dressing that tasted like a greek dressing in a restaurant. I do agree that it was a bit vinegar-y, and I like vinegar. Will use more olive oil next time. Also, I used fresh garlic and didn't have onion powder so I used a little onion salt instead.

Sweet and Tangy Slow Cooker Bar-B-Q Pork

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2009
This was not one of my favorites. I followed the recipe exactly with the exception of not having celery seeds so I used celery salt. The ribs were moist for sure but the sauce was runny and I didn't really care for the flavor all so much. It had a lot of ingredients for the sauce too.

Sweet and Sour Meatballs (Suan T'ien Niu Jou Po Lo La Tzu)

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
I followed the recipe exactly with the exception of doubling the sauce. I loved the flavor in the sauce but the combination of the meatballs and the sauce didn't work for me. I might have liked a lighter meatball made with chicken or turkey. The sauce would be yummy over chicken or shrimp.

French Toast Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2008
I used 1doz eggs, and let it sit overnight, in the morning, before putting it in the oven, I stirred the bread around (I found that this keeps the top from drying out, as does covering it in foil to bake). My two little girls and my husband loved it.

I really liked the look of this recipe, but I made some adjustments. I used 1C brown sugar, and instead of the water I used 1C of Prickly Pear Juice. My family LOVED it. Thank you for the recipe.

Black Bean And Corn Salad II

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2008
This was so good and refreshing. A good way to use some of your homegrown tomatoes. I didn't have an avocado so I made this without it. Also, I was short a little lime juice so I used a combo of lime and fresh lemon juice. Still very good.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2008
I made this recipe exactly except I used one can of chicken broth instead of water. It was very easy to prepare. It was yummy too. I have 3 very picky kid eaters and two out of the three ate it liking the chicken the best. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I thought it was pretty salty.
