Whipped Cream Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2008
YUM. i use powdered sugar instead of the white sugar, as some of the other folks have mentioned here. this is an excellent frosting for dessert pizzas: http://makingfoodeatingfood.wordpress.com/2008/08/23/pizza-for-dessert/

Oatmeal Carmelitas

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2008
We love these! I made them to take camping and my husband's first bite got an "mmmmmmm" that had a special zing to it, meaning these are a keeper. I didn't measure the carmel, just put a bunch on. Next time I'll put more and fewer chocolate chips. I doubled it in a 9x13 and cut back a bit on the butter. A winner of a recipe!

Chicken Spaghetti Casserole I

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2008
Great dinner. Like others, I added my own spin on it - mainly with spices and I added about 1 cup of spaghetti sauce to give it a more italian flavor. I also used garlic powder, seasoned salt, and 2 TB of pesto sauce. I had some Tomato Basil egg noodles that were perfect for the dish. Made it more of a casserole than spaghetti. I will make this again.

Frosted Zucchini Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2008
These were fantastic! I did not wait the 2 hours to refrigerate because I didn't have time and they still turned out perfect. So I wouldn't waste the time. Perfect amount of spice and zucchini. I also added some cinnamon to the frosting which was even tastier. I'll keep this recipe.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2008
it's really difficult to type a review with the best big fat chewy chocolate chip cookie in my hand, but i'm gonna try... THESE ARE AWESOME. my favourite recipe for choco chip cookies by far. the only thing i do differently is substitute bittersweet chips for the semisweet, as i feel the dough is sweet enough on its own. man, these are so good. if you'll excuse me, i need to go eat another.... ;)

Ken's Spicy Curry Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2008
I have not made this recipe yet, but my husband loves panang curry chicken and has been begging me to try out a recipe. Has anyone considered adding lemongrass to this recipe? Our favorite local Thai place uses it in their curries and it gives the dishes that extra zip. Just curious. Thanks!

Zucchini Bread VI

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2008
Overall good. I added lemon zest (zest from one whole lemon) and that seemed to bring out the lemon flavor. I also used lemon juice instead of the lemon extract - because I had the "naked" lemon after I zested it. Also added nutmeg. It was very good - but no fireworks. I will make again and keep experimenting. Thanks!

Zucchini Boats on the Grill

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2008
Very tasty! I made these in a last minute decision and they worked awesome over a bed of rice. I had some leftover hamburger meat that I added instead of bacon. I even omitted the pepper and chili because I didn't have them and it still tasted great.

Super Sausage Gravy

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2008
I love, love, LOVE how easy this was! I must've looked at 5-6 recipes that had TONS of unnecessary ingredients, and when I was about to give up, I found this one! Now, I typically find a way to screw up gravy (it's just not in me!), but this turned out deliciously! And I can't wait til my hubby wakes up so I can serve it to him for his Father's Day breakfast! I paired this with the biscuits from the Good Housekeeping cookbook. Delish!

Bake Sale Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2008
These bars are excellent. I know people complain when you give something 5 stars and then say all the changes you made to the recipe, but I give this 5 stars for the "base" recipe. I'm sure it's still worth 5 stars, but in reading others comments, I doubled the crust. Next time I think I'll just 1.5 it. It's still good and I think the basic crust wouldn't be enough. I put in 4 eggs, the same sugar, 4 1/2 Tbsp. flour, 1/2 c. (actually a little more) lemon juice (use real lemons....it gives it a better zing....though I do live in AZ and have a lemon tree in my backyard....still, I think it's worth it) and then gave it a few drops of yellow food coloring. They turned out awesome! Thanks for the great recipe. I only made changes based on my own tastes and preferences therefore, I'm sure the original here is worth 5 stars!

Corn Dogs

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2008
My almost 3 year old has been asking for corn dogs for a long time. Instead of going and buying the frozen kind, I figured I'd make them. These were fabulous! I made sure mine were dry, and the oil was hot enough that I didn't have to dip them in the corn starch before coating. They were so good my daughter took a bite and said, "yum. good job!" :-) can't beat that!

These turned out fine. I took my vanilla out of the pantry to add it, but I don't think I did. lol. So maybe next time I'll remember, and they'll be as incredible as everyone says! But they were delicious even without the vanilla, so if you don't have it, don't worry!

Homemade Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2008
OMG! Very delicious. I added some chopped ham that I had left over from Easter and from another suggestion, about 1 TB Worcestershire Sauce and with a sprinkle of basil and paprika in the cheese sauce. Hubby had 3 huge helpings and was crying about it later that he ate too much. NO MORE BOXED MAC AND CHEESE FOR US!! Thanks!

Great recipe to start with. I also omitted the mayo and added milk and an extra can of cream of mush. I also added some fresh mushrooms because I needed to use them up. I also added basil, italian seasonings and pepper to taste.
