Slow Cooker Taco Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2008
I used ground turkey and added beef boullion to the mixture to trick my boyfriend into thinking he's eating beef. I only put it on about two hours ago, but it already tastes amazing and I can't wait to eat it for dinner.

Warm Black Bean Dip

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2008
Delish! As I disdain the flavor, texture and appearance of sun-dried tomatoes, I substituted a half can of diced tomatoes with garlic and onion (drained). I also was a bit surprised that this was more of a relish than a smooth dip, so I stirred the mixture until the beans were a bit more broken down. One last note: Adding a packet of Goya cilantro and tomato seasoning makes everything Latin taste that much better. :)

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2008
I thought it was a tiny bit bland the first time I made it. I added about 1/4 teaspoon of smoked chipotle pepper seasoning and a pinch of thyme the next time around and marinated it for three hours and it was much improved. It was incredibly tender both times.

Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: May 17, 2008
This dish was very good, with the adjustments suggested by others. I did, however, not love the texture of the baked sour cream. It came out a little "curdy."

Very sweet, but the flavors blend very well together. It was a hit at the horse races this past weekend!

Tasty Tuna Pasta

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2008
This was great, quick, easy and still good reheated. In other words, everything you want in a weeknight dinner. I did add a good amount of grated parmesean cheese to the jar sauce as I don't like the odd taste in store-bought alfredos, but other than that, I wouldn't change a thing.

Sourdough Bread I

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2008
I have been looking for this recipe since I lost my starter a few years ago. My sister-in-law had given me this recipe and some starter and I made it for years then the starter went bad because I forgot it for too long. You do have to feed it or it dies. This is a great bread and my family and everyone I give a loaf to loves it. It is easy but you do have to follow the directions exactly. I had no problem in the top being too brown like some say. You do have to adjust your oven sometimes as some ovens are not set correctly. Thanks Becky for putting this bread and the starter on Allrecipes. Lora

Famous Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2008
This was an AWESOME recipe! My husband and I both loved it. It's a great change from the normal pork chops. Next time I won't use as much butter though. I think it would be great with half as much. Maybe even add some jalapenos for some kick? :-P This is something that you will want to add in to your weekly routine!!

Chicken Enchilada Soup III

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2008
This is everything you look for in a recipe; easy, quick, delicious and reheatable. It tastes exactly like an enchilada. I added chipotle pepper, halved the cheese, and used barbecue chicken breast I already had cooked from last night, which saved on the time. FOR THE MASA HARINA HATERS: When mixing the masa with the water, whisk a little at a time into your water (about a tablespoon at a time) very quickly, until it is all dissolved. This gives it a much smoother consistency and alleviates the grittiness.

Loved this recipe! The crust was a nice change from the typical graham crust and the filling was fluffy and light. This may become our new dessert for the holidays!
