Banana Muffins II

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2009
These turned out super moist, and just all around wonderful! I followed the recipe and ended up with about 14 standard size muffins. Easy and delicious.

Marshmallow Fondant

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2009
Wow. If I can make this, I swear anyone can. I used my KA mixer to mix it, then took it out to knead it a couple of times. I covered my hands in crisco and just added the powdered sugar until it quit sticking. Just don't be stupid like me and add food coloring without wearing gloves.. My hands were red for a day or so.. Only I would do something like that. :) I encourage all of you to try this.

Amy's Cilantro Cream Sauce

This is AWESOME! I used a can of salsa verde and added cilantro until it was just right for us. This can be used so many different ways.. the possibilities are endless! Personally, I could have just eaten it with a spoon by itself! Yes. That good :D

Pineapple Salsa

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2009
We made this to go over grilled chicken, and it was very good. I think for our own personal taste I will use less beans next time (and I do love black beans). I just liked the other flavors better and wanted more of them! Hubby even said he'd like this as a side dish. Will be making again!

Melt - In - Your - Mouth Shortbread

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2009
These are quick, easy, and do melt in your mouth. Very impressed for such simple ingredients. After eating one that had just come out of the oven, I found they tasted better after they had been sitting out for a little while. I changed nothing about the recipe and used the same temp that it called for. I rolled them into small balls and baked for about 12 minutes. Topped with a little vanilla glaze just for fun.. Thanks Jennifer!

What a nice change from regular mashed potatoes! I used unpeeled red potatoes, and added a little more dill. Just lovely! Perfect blend of flavors and very pretty. Thank you Gail!

Cream Cheese Cookie Cups

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2009
Had to give this 5 stars for several reasons. They are super simple to make. Require very few ingredients. And they are just adorable! They are rich, but what isn't rich with cream cheese in it!?! I followed the recipe, but doubled the filling so I could use the entire 18 oz. cookie dough roll. This made 24 mini cups. And I also sprayed my pan with baker's joy before putting the dough in. Out of curiosity I added cocoa powder to a portion of the cream cheese mixture to see how they'd taste with chocolate cream cheese filling, and I liked it alot:) Like the previous reviewer, I topped with mini choc chips. Will try m&m's next time like the submitter suggests. Will be making these again. Thanks Rachel!

Raspberry Chipotle Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2009
This was easy to make, and tasted really good. I may cut back next time on the apple cider vinegar, just because we really tasted it, more so than the other flavors. But we still enjoyed it alot! I used one jumbo jalapeno and the heat was just right, and also used frozen raspberries. (The fresh ones at the store looked awful!) Made this to go on grilled chicken sandwiches with jalapeno havarti cheese, and this sauce complimented it nicely! Think it'd be great over a block of cream cheese with crackers, and can't wait to try it on other meats. Thanks Holly :)

Melt In Your Mouth Blueberry Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2009
This cake is incredible! Yes, it does require a little more time when preparing it, but it's completely worth the couple extra steps. I followed the recipe exactly as written, and cooked mine for about 45 minutes. Beautiful and moist. The flavor was just perfect, and the little bit of sugar on top added just the right amount of sweetness. If I could rate this more stars I would.. This one is definitely worth taking the time to make. Thank you IRENED for a very special recipe :)

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2009
I've made these cookies a zillion times and they have only turned out flat once and it was completely my fault. I added the hot, melted butter immediately to the mixture and the dough wouldn't firm up..even after refrigeration. So I always let the butter cool before adding it. The results are beautiful, big, thick, chewy cookies that everyone loves!! No doubt this is one of the better choco chip cookie recipes I've come across! Just don't overbake!!

Almost No Fat Banana Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2009
I have been using another banana bread recipe from AR, and I love it! But I'm trying to lose weight, and just can't eat it anymore! So I came across this one, and finally decided to make it eventhough it had mixed reviews. I'm so glad I did, because it turned out wonderful! Just like everyone already said, don't over mix it. I added an extra banana and a little vanilla, and I'm thrilled with the outcome. I can't believe I'm going to say this but I may even reduce the sugar a bit next time! For those of you who are skeptical, don't be afraid to try this one =)

Cream Cheese Squares

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2009
These are wonderful, and easy to make. However, I use less sugar in the filling, and only use around 1-2 tbsp of butter for the top. They are yummy if you add a strawberry or other fruity jam on top of the cream cheese mixture. My first review on these said they were good warm or cold, but the more I serve them, the more people like them chilled. Either way, you can't lose with this one. :)

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2009
I was actually surprised at how great this tasted! Be sure to use a spaghetti sauce that is packed with flavor and defintely season your ground beef. I used italian seasoning and a little garlic. Also, this makes ALOT, it filled up my 9x13 pyrex dish to the very top. SO cheesy and delicious. Wouldn't change a thing about this recipe.

Apple Strudel Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2009
This recipe as written is 3-4 stars, but I ended up changing a few things like other reviewers. I added cinnamon, nutmeg, used 1/2 brown sugar, 1/2 white sugar, reduced butter, and added applesauce. Used 2 apples, 1 shredded and the other finely chopped. Put part of the strudel in the middle of the muffin, and the rest on top. They came out really moist and pretty! The revised muffins are definitely 5 stars.

Easy Devonshire Cream

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2009
This stuff is so good I could use it for a dip with cookies! Instead I used it to top the "Rich Chocolate Truffle Pie" from this site....WOW! Many reviews here confused me because some say to increase the cream cheese and some say that all they tasted was cream cheese. So I went with the 3 oz. as called for and I wouldn't change a thing. I'll make this many times over!

Rich Chocolate Truffle Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2009
This was crazy easy and just as good! I don't understand some reviews that criticize the intense chocolate flavor. Did they read the ingredients? I accidently used 1/3 cup of sugar rather than the 1/4 called for and I could have handled the lesser sugar (I'll be more careful next time). My store was out of chocolate cookie crusts, so I used a pre-made shortbread crust and I loved the contrast. I topped the whole pie with Easy Devonshire Cream from this site and shaved chocolate. My only problem is that I at the last piece last night and I don't have enough cream to make another right now ;). Thank you for my new "Go-To" chocolate fix!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2009
The first time I made these, I overcooked them, and they came out super dry and hard on top. Well, I knew they had to be good, so I made them again tonight as mini muffins, and they are SOOO good and moist and YUMMY!! Baked them at 350 for about 14 minutes, and they are beautiful!! Won't be looking for anymore banana muffin recipes :) This one is perfect as is.
