Sans Rival

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
This is my second time baking this using the same recipe but this time I used real buttercream icing suggested by one of the reviewer from the Philippines. I whipped 1c.unsalted butter until light and fluffy add 1/4 c. of powdered sugar a pinch of salt and a teaspoon of clear vanilla. The icing is not too sweet just right for the very sweet meringue. I added 1/2c. almond (chopped)in the icing and freeze it before eating. It reminds me of Goldilocks sansrival . Just a tip , I greased and flour the foil and baked the meringue for 10-13 more minutes, adjust oven rack in the middle and rotate the pan halfway. Remove the meringue while its hot and place them on a wire rack to cool. Thanks for the recipe. I think the yolk and butter mixture for the icing is way too sweet and heavy.

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

This was ok. I followed Jillian's recommendations, and although it turned out ok and was very easy to put together I probably will look for another recipe to try as well. I did, because of time, have to cook on high..will try again one day cooking all day and see if it is better!

Oven Baked BBQ Ribs

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
Made these last night..delicious! Did not alter sauce..was perfect. Covered ribs with foil and cooked 1 hour, added remainder of sauce, covered again cooked for another hour. Removed foil basted and left uncovered basting every 15 mins for 30 more mins. Finished them on the grill, basted them there too, for 15 mins to get a nice char. Were absolutely perfect!

Very nice flavor and super easy to make. Could easily pass as a fancy meal. I like the chicken pounded super thin or I purchase chicken cutlets.

Dinah's Baked Scallops

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2009
Made these last night and they were awesome! I added garlic to the butter mixture and I drizzled a bit too much on top..I couldn't resist! Next time I will restrain myself and just use it to dip them in while eating. I am planning on making these again using Panko crumbs as suggested by other viewers to add an extra crispiness! Definitely a keeper!

My hubby and I loved these! Prepared with no changes and they turned out perfect. Could not convince the kiddos to try them..they said they smelled great but they couldn't get over the spinach part. Give them a few more years though and I'm sure they will love them as much as we do!

Slow-Cooked Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2009
Great chili! Only changes I made were to use Chili Style diced tomatoes, and only 1 can of kidney beans and added 1 can of Chili flavored Pinto beans. It is not spicy at all so if you are looking for that then you will need to add a little something to it..but great base recipe. Was great the next day as a frito pie with Chili Cheese Fritos.
