Italian Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
This Cheesecake is so very delicious. I did cut the recipe down to 2 pies since we are just 5 and I didn't want any to go to waste. I love the citrus with the anise flavor and then the chocolate! Whats not to love?

Oven Pot Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
I usually don't make my roast in the oven unless I use a bag recipe. My husband loved this recipe, he raved for hours and then had seconds. My only changes were that I used 2 cans of Cream of mushroom soup, 3/4 cup white Port wine, 4 1/2 pound roast, 1 packet dry onion mix and seasoned the flour with garlic powder and season all season salt.

Flavorful Beef Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
The sauce is great. I used apple juice. I omitted the peas and water chestnuts, and added garlic powder and ginger. This was my third time making this. The first time, the cornstarch was like glue. By the time I added the vegetables, there was no sauce to coat them with. The second time I made this, I threw out all of the excess marinade, cooked the beef, made the marinade again, and added it at the end of cooking. For anyone that's not familiar with the power of cornstarch: cook beef, toss in vegetables, take the pan off the stove, add cornstarched marinade (coating everything), then return to the stove and stir till sauce thickens. This time, 3rd time, I cooked everything on medium-low, nice and slow, and it turned out fine, but I liked the way it turned out the second time better.

This recipe is sooo delicious. I made it for an early Thanksgiving at my grandmother's house. Very easy. Next time I want to try it with brown sugar.

I will say that I completely messed up the recipe. I misread the amount of powdered sugar that was supposed to go in. Even so these tasted really good. Like a Reese's. Thanks.

Pumpkin Bavarian Cream Tart

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2009
This is a tasty pie. Don't worry about getting the whipped cream completely worked in. Its nice to get a little bit of it in with the pie. Makes a ton of filling. I fill up a deep dish pie shell and still had about a cup of extra filling. I just put it in a bowl. Still yummy. Thanks for the recipe.

Yummy! I used 2 large Granny Smith and 2 small gala apples for this pie. It came out really good. We all really enjoyed this pie. I served it cold but I think it would be better warm. Thanks for the recipe!

Sweet Potato Fluff

This is very tasty. I like the vanilla added in to the mix. The recipe I usually use doesn't call for vanilla. I did put about a 1/2 cup of coconut in the topping too. But I'm a coconut fan. Thanks for the recipe!

Grandma's Corn Bread Dressing

Very good. I needed a dressing recipe after I found out that my bread had molded. I found this one and now I'm kind of glad my other plan didn't work out. Very tasty. I did use more celery than was called for but I like my stuffing with extra veggies. Will make this again. Thanks!

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

I usually cook my turkey's in a baking bag but wanted to try something different this time. I was curious how it would be with out the bag. I have never made a dry turkey. Until today. Sorry but I think I will stick with the bag.

Cranberry Chicken I

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2009
Okay, here's the problem I have with this recipe. A friend of mine gave me this recipe without the onion soup packet, whole canned cranberries instead of jellied, added pecans and baked it in the oven. It was WONDERFUL. I tried it this way yesterday. It tasted exactly the same with one exception. You know that onion taste that you can't get out of your mouth no matter how much you brush, floss, or pik? Stayed with me through today. I would definitely make this, taking out the onion soup mix and adding pecans. I love it with rice.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2009
Everybody seems to love it, so I tried it, but it wasn't for me. I'm more of a hamburger consistency meatloaf lover (like mama used to make), and this was not it. I mixed just enough to blend the ingredients, but it was smooth, like I over did it... I'm used to BBQ sauce on meatloaf, and I wish I would've gone with my gut and did it, because the brown sugar & ketchup sauce was weak.
