Army SOS Creamed Ground Beef

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2008
Wow! My dad was a chef in the Army and this is almost exactly his recipe. I love how this turned out; creamy, flavorful, and great over buttered toast, served with a fried egg on top and a side of fried potatoes. Good thing we only have if once in a while.

Steak and Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2008
Such a wonderful salad! I found the perfect dressing for this....Newman's Own Light Cranberry & Walnut. It is sweet, savory, tart, crunchy...just a GREAT salad! The only thing I did differently is add red onion. Loved it.

Fluff Dip for Fruit

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2008
I am sooo glad someone else, besides myself, could not get this to work with the measurements posted!! I had to add wayyyy more milk just like the person direcly below me. After I played with it for a very long time, it finally came together. The taste was good, but believe me, it was to much work & tweaking for me to ever make this again. The measurements are off.

Delicious and Easy Mock Risotto

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2008
I love orzo pasta & risotto, but I do not like the time it takes to make risotto, so I tried this. Not the same, but very good. I added a little half & half, chopped basil & parsley at the end. My crew ate the whole thing!

Blackened Shrimp Stroganoff

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2008
This dish was just super! I doubled the sauce, and added garlic. I didn't have the roasted red pepper, so I put in asparagus, which was delicious. Another reviewer suggested spinach...I think I'll try that next time, and there will be a next time, because we all just loved this one!

California Italian Wedding Soup

This soup was excellent! I used the ground turkey method that some others suggested. The lemon zest was right on the money, also used the juice in the soup. So easy also, will make again & again!

Green Bean and Potato Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2008
This salad is so stinkin good. I doubled the potatoes because I had a 3 lb. bag of them, and the dressing was still plenty. I also added more onion, cuz we love it. Thanks for the lovely & different recipe!

Kahala's Macaroni Seafood Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2008
Despite mixed reviews I tried it, and I'm glad we did! My husband had 3 helpings. I used bowtie pasta, and imitation crab (double the amount). Otherwise, I followed everything, and it was great. It did make a lot, and most of my extended family doesn't eat seafood, but that was the only downside!

Molly's Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2008
This was a fantastic and super easy main dish! The chicken was falling off the bones, and we had plenty for leftovers. I gave some away, and my husband got on to me until I showed him we still had 4 legs or so left for him. I did have to cook it on high for a little while, because (of course, lol) the power went off for a little bit, and I had to compensate for time, but it turned out wonderfully. Will definately be making this again!

Traditional Coffee Cake

This was a little time consuming, but according to everyone, it was well worth it! I should have started it a little earlier, but other than that, I have no complaints! It has made quite a bit, so we have plenty to share...my husband like to warm it up in the microwave and put butter on it.

Hamburger Potato Casserole

Husband & son really enjoyed this recipe. I wasn't a big fan though. I have to vote with other people about it being a little bland. Also, I had to cook it for almost 2hrs. before potatos were completely done.

Sweeper Steak

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2008
This was very well received, even my 3 year old loved it! We served it over fetticine noodles, and the only changes I made were to add a little bit of milk and not use a whole package of the onion soup mix, to try and cut down on the sodium. I reduced the amount of onion as well, since I'm not a huge fan of onion, but didn't want to cut it out entirely.
