Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
Love this cookie! Like many, I tweaked mine based on the reviews. I coarsely chop 2 out of the 3 cups of oats, add 1 cup each of the white choc. chips, walnuts and sweetened dried cranberries (Craisens). I also add a tsp of cinnamon to the mixture as well. Just be sure to get them as uniform in size as possible to ensure even baking. I know that’s a “duh” moment for many of you, but I’m always in such a hurry I forget. ;-) I've always gotten rave reviews from this cookie and I'm so glad it was shared with us!

I make these only I use crushed(ground) shrimp to the mixture. Gives a little seafood taste without the texture.

This was my first time making Baklava and it was so easy! It took me about an hour (I had 4 little helpers) but it is so worth it! Thank you for the wonderful recipe, it tastes better than anything I have ever bought!

Prepared this as shown - decreased the dill because my family is not use to lots of spices, yet. Hubby said it is a keeper.

Jalapeno Chicken II

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2009
IF I could give this recipe 10 stars I would! I LOVE this recipe!! I made it once for dinner just to give it a try. I love stuffed jalapenos so this recipe really caught my attention. I pounded the chicken thinner than what they want on the recipe and used a whole jalapeno intead of a half. My husband loved it and insisted I make it for my daughter's birthday party for the adults. I made a huge batch of these and they didn't last! I got rave reviews on these! I crave this recipe a lot! I can't thank you enought for this great recipe, I will be making this. A LOT!!

I had a version of this recipe last night and, although skeptical at first, it was very good. Our host added a bit of crab boil to give it an extra kick. I definitely recommend this tasty dip.

These turned out great! They were a lot of work, but the outcome was great. The kids loved them and didn't last long. I added a few drops of green food coloring for the actual witch look. They do break easily so be careful w/them Otherwise Great recipe. Will make again.

Good way to use leftover chicken. I wouldn't use an entire onion, however, as it is very over-powering.

Cabbage Rolls II

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2009
Enjoyed this recipe. Thought it would be harder to make than it was since it was my first time. I read other reviews which really helped me. I added a half lb of italian sausage to the ground beef & also doubled the sauce recipe. Didn't cook it in the slow cooker...put them in a baking dish, covered them with the extra cabbage leaves & they turned out perfectly. I will add this to my recipe collection!

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2009
Simple & sooo delicious! I actually did use a cheaper BBQ sauce that I had on hand & it worked fine. My younger kids liked it on buttered, browned rolls & the older kids liked it with the baked potato. The chicken I used wasn't fully thawed & I think that made the end result a little watery but the chicken was so tender & flavorful that it didn't seem to bother anyone. We will definitely be making this one of our favs!

Steff's Shepherd Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2009
My whole family liked this recipe. In order for the kids to get more veggies I added another can of green beans & another cup of mashed potatoes. Definitely thought adding salt & pepper to the ground beef gave it a little more taste. Next time I may try adding tomato soup instead of mushroom just for a change. Yummy as leftovers too.

Authentic Mexican Breakfast Tacos

I made these for me & the husband since he's never had them before. I grew up eating this as a kid and I must say this was close to how my mother made it. Only we didn't add milk to the eggs and we ate them with flour tortillas but they are good when eaten with corn tortillas as well. I also cut out the tobasco sauce. I'll make these again soon.
