Super Al's Cocktail Sauce

Reviewed: May 14, 2009
What an amazing little cocktail sauce! Absolutely delicious---the tang of the lemon and the sweetness of the brown sugar really give it that "something extra." This is my new go-to cocktail sauce, and what I will serve with our cocktail shrimp at dinner tonight :). Thanks for the recipe!

This was good - a bit sweet for me. I guess I just don't like sweet salmon. I'll stick to blackened salmon.

Rempel Family Meatloaf

Reviewed: May 14, 2009
I made this recipe exactly s written - even with using cheese Ritz and only the flakes of the onion soup mix. I would give it a 5 for juicyness but for flavor a 3. My husband and I thought it was really bland, nothing to it really. I will stick with my meatloaf recipe. Sorry.

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: May 11, 2009
So easy and sooooo yummy! I cooked a pork loin in the slow cooker on low for 8 hours, then transferred to the oven with a bottle of "Saltgrass Original BBQ Sauce" (I think this might be only sold locally though in the central Texas area). Absolutely delicious, thanks for the recipe. The beef broth was an awesome idea! I'll be cooking this again and again!

Absolutely delicious. I followed the recipe exactly. Next time I will double the ham, my hubby and I agreed that the recipe was a little short on meat, but other than that it was soooo good and so easy. I ate the leftovers for both breakfast and lunch today :). Thank you for the awesome recipe!

Famous Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2009
What a treasure of a recipe! This was absolutely delicious, my hubby and I cleaned our plates. I changed the recipe a little based on other reviews: 1/2 stick butter, plenty of garlic salt, pepper and onion powder, cooked for 30 minutes. I flattened my chicken to a 1/2 inch thickness while my husband kept his chicken breast thick, and we both agreed that mine tasted better so I definitely recommend flattening the meat. I double coated the meat, and it was crunchy and so good. Next time I will make more bread crumbs up because we ran out before I could finish double coating 2 breasts. Also, I used Town & Country crackers and they were perfect. Great recipe!

A little too salty for me (and I do love salty foods!). Otherwise, really easy to make which is nice when you're tired and don't feel like slaving in the kitchen :). I will try this recipe again with a low sodium soy.

WOW! Campbell's you did it again! Another GREAT recipe! My hubby hates mushrooms and onions and he said this was better than mine! LOL. The only thing different I did was sear the meat before I put it in. A++ Recipe! Thanks! (and NO, I didnt add extra liquid and stuff like other people had said to, you don't need it!)

Ham and Beans

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2009
I gave this 5 stars because it is a great basic recipe that can be adapted to different tastes and desires. It makes a great soup that has a wonderfully subtle sweet flavor and is extremely filling. My husband was not excited when I told him that we were having beans for dinner, but he was pleasantly surprised and even the my son who declared that he did not like beans and ham ate his entire bowl!!! I made this dish into a version of bean and ham soup. To get around the long soaking period, place the beans into a large pot and cover with water. Bring the water to a boil. Boil for 5 minutes, turn the heat off and then leave the beans to soak for an hour. After the hour soak, proceed wiht your recipe as usual. To make my version of this recipe, I used frozen ham from our Christmas ham and then filled the pot up to the top with water. After bringing the pot to a boil, I simmered the pot with a lid on to reduce the water loss. I used 1/3 cup brown sugar along with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. While the pot simmered, I chopped a small onion and one pound of carrots. I sauted the carrots and onion in butter until soft and slightly browned. After simmering the beans for approximately 2 hours, I removed about one cup of beans, smashed them, returned them to the pot and added the sauted veggies. I then let the pot simmer for about another 10 minutes while I cut crusty bread into slices. WHAT A WONDERFUL MEAL!!!

Spicy Black Bean Potato Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2009
Simply wonderful. I made this for a bar-b-q and everyone LOVED it. Easy to put together and tastes very fresh, unique, and most of all- DELICIOUS! The only thing I will change next time is cutting the jalepenos up in little tiny pieces rather than slices and maybe use less. I had a few people say the bites with the jalepeno slices were a little too spicy for them :). Awesome recipe!
