Cinnamon Sugar Biscotti

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
Just made this today for an Italian themed party I am going to. I've never tasted biscotti, so I had no idea what to expect. It is very crispy and tasty. I enjoyed sampling it. Very easy to make. I love the cinnamon. I think it is sugary enough alone if you don't want to add icing. And it is very crumbly and hard to work with, but I hear that is expected of a good biscotti recipe. Great recipe, thank you.

Would it be wrong of me to eat all this from the bowl with a spoon.. It was AMAZING! I didn't have the tomtilla's or celery salt so I replaced it with salsa and chilpolte peppers, 1. It was the BOMB...

Peach Cobbler Dump Cake I

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2009
I liked it, hubby liked the crust, my 4 year old spit it out. I followed the advice of the other viewers and added brown sugar to the top. I checked the recipe several times because I couldn't beleive I didn't need to do something to the cake mix and checked it several times in the oven. I did not use the cinnamon my family really doesn't like it. It was good not the cobbler I grew up on I actually prefer more of a pie like crust.

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2009
I didn't have the dark beer or the coriander and I too used chili powder instead of sauce. I did add some adobo peppers and it had a nice smoky flavor. I also left out the chilli peppers because I was cooking for little ones. This was a really good chili but not exactly the show stopper I was looking for.

Its funny how this made it to your table. My mom's mom was so poor and had very little to give to her own.So with out the cheese witch is a plus they had it often. And it followed her daughter and her kids and still to this day it is ask for often. I'm not sure if it was been out of love, are we just like it. Grats.. Picky 10 year old chef. Some great things are simple. And loved

Phenominal! Great taste, better than most restaurants. I don't know why everyone doesn't make them like this. :-) I did add a chicken boullion cube with the water (just one) to give it an extra punch.

New Duchess Spice Cake with Maple Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2009
I am giving "Thumbs Up" for the icing! I ended up using a different spice cake recipe, similar but more buttermilk to flour ratio to ensure it came out moist enough... and I am glad I did that because ended up being just right. It would have been too dry to use any less. This cake was for Dad's birthday, so it needed to be great and couldn't be dry. This was a perfect combination, and this cake was gone quite quickly! My husband still is talking about it, and keeps telling me I need to keep this recipe. Thank you for suggesting such a "hit" with a different flavor combination!

This recipe is great as it is. I agree that sliced onions and sliced tomatoes compliment the cucumbers in this dish. I prefer running a fork the length of the cucumber to cut the skin, then slicing into medallions.

Balsamic Vinegar and Ginger Bok Choy

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2009
WOW! this was great! I had enver cooked with Bok Choy (I have had it in Chinese) before, but we got some in our CSA share this week. I made this with a bit less vinegar than called for, added in some salt and pepper and served it with a mediterranean shrimp & onion dish. It was fantastic!

Hazel's Meatballs

Reviewed: May 17, 2009
First of all, I want to say that the sauce is GREAT. I hate running to the store to get that one ingredient you just don't keep on hand. Everything in this recipe is something almost everyone has. The only reason I subtracted one star is because cooking the meatballs in the sauce makes for a LOT of fat in the final recipe. Also, I made this recipe with 1/2 hamburger and 1/2 sausage. That was MY mistake, NOT the recipe's. The sausage flavor was too strong for this sauce so, if you are thinking of doing this.. you shouldn't. Overall, the recipe was a huge success. Thank you.
