This has got to be the tastiest and the most moist cornbread I have ever made. It is the most requested thing I cook, so I am sharing it. Don't let the ingredients fool you. It's unbelievable.

I've been using this recipe for over 20 years, ever since I moved to South Carolina. It can be adjusted to serve any number. Allow 2 tablespoons of seasoning per quart of water. If you cannot find hot smoked sausage, use another smoked sausage such as kielbasa and add crushed hot red pepper to the pot.

I FOUND this recipe in the newspaper many years ago. It has been a family favorite ever since. Since it goes well with any meat, it's a good 'dish to pass' for family gatherings or potluck suppers. Someone will always ask 'Who brought the onions?' -Louise Elliott, Gallipolis, Ohio

This soup simmering on your stove will fill the whole house with the most tantalizing aromas. By the time that you ladle it out, your family (or guests) will likely be standing in line! I adapted the recipe from a Hungarian cookbook. When my family's extra-hungry, I serve it with 'pocket bread' I've filled with either jam or cheese for a hearty variation.

A simple baked ziti strikes it rich with layers of sour cream, and three kinds of Italian cheese. Ready-made spaghetti sauce reduces the prep time, and ground meat is optional.
