Skillet Pork Chops with Potatoes and Onion

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2009
This was great! The only thing I did different was add some season salt to the flour and use chicken bouillon because I couldn't find beef at Albertsons. This was nice and simple. Thanks a bunch.

Terri's Chicken Carcass Stew

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
My husband, who is not an avid soup fan, made this last night, and we both ate until we were almost ashamed. This soup is fantastic! Due to time constraints, he cooked it on the stove top, and began with two frozen chicken breasts which were cooked in water seasoned with salt, black pepper and garlic powder. When the chicken was done, he chopped/shredded it, removed the fat and began adding everything to the pan, including chicken broth. He didn't want to use the liquid the chicken was cooked in. When it came to chile powder, he grabbed the 1/2 tablespoon measure instead of the 1/2 teaspoon, and we debated, then went ahead and used the larger amount. That's the only ingredient we changed, and we just ooohed and aaahed because the soup was so good! Another new favorite to add to the soup section of our recipe file. Thank SO much for sharing this. I'll be sure to pass it on.

Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
My husband and I made this a few nights ago, doubled the recipe, and fed three families. The only bad part was we didn't have enough for us to have some a second afternoon! It was fantastic and has gone into the favorites file. Now you have to understand that my DH isn't a soup fan, but I figure he was extra hungry that day because he took the initiative in the cooking. Thrilled me! He used the potato masher to make the potato pieces smaller, and I thought it was a good idea. This is a great soup. Thanks for sharing.

Spicy Pumpkin Pie II

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
Delicious and perfectly spiced. I used 2c of evaperated milk instead of the milk and cream, which was slightly more than 1 can. Worked out fine but was a bit creamy for me. Next time I will use 1 can. Taste was perfect!

Chocolate Pecan Pie III

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
Delicious and sinfuly decadent! This pie was a little slice of heaven. Chocolate is the perfect addition to pecan pie. It was rich and chocolaty but not too sweet. Perfect! I will be making this pie on holidays from now on! I did add an additional 2T of cocoa as I love chocolate, and it tasted perfect to me. Thanks Ruth!

Cinnamon Candied Apples

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2009
I have a similar recipe that I've used for years. I use 3/4 C white and 3/4 C brown sugar and an entire 9 oz pkg of red hots. This makes enough syrup to do 5 lbs of apples. The recipe calls for 3 lbs, but I have done 5 lbs. You may have to do it in 2 to 3 batches depending on the size of your pan. Start with aprox half of your apple slices and remove when tender with a slotted spoon. Place remaining apple slices into syrup and cook till tender. These are delicious! I have many requests for them at holiday time. They go great with ham, but are good with turkey as well. Enjoy!

Taste like "Angel Chicken", another recipe on this site which I love! I think it needs a little milk or chicken broth because it's pretty thick and it has a really strong flavor. I will definitely make it again. Served over rice.

Caramelized Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2009
This was so good. To make them sticky I baked them covered for 30 mins and then flipped the chicken over and baked another 20 mins covered and took the cover off and drained the extra sauce and cooked uncovered for 10 more minutes. This made these sticky and perfect! A great dinner recipe or Asian style wings.

My Kid's Favorite Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2009
This was wonderful. I used a can of Coors Lite and bottle of sweet and spicy bbq sauce we got from Zest Fest in Fort Worth this year. I forgot the onions but it probably didn't need them. I used bone in pork chops and cooked for one hour and they were very moist. These were better them putting them on the grill.

I don't normally change recipes but fish should cook with seasonings already on it so I put all the seasonings on the fish with a few pieces of butter on top and added the parmesan/butter.mayo on top. I didn't care for the topping but the fish was good.

Stuffed Pepper Soup IV

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2009
OMG out of this world. I made it all up and poured it over cooked rice. If doing this way cup the liquid down to half. Sooooo goooood. I used tomato soup instead of the tomato sauce which I think adds a little more flavor... and I didn't have the tomato sauce anyways. Great! Picture to follow, next week when I make it again.

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Made recipe to the T, unlike some other reviewers. Awesome! I used drums and wings. Not too much breading but just enough for a good crunch. So so easy to make too. You can even cut out the flour step and fry the wings right up. Great!
