Amish Meatloaf

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2008
This recipe is so simple and perfect! I've made this for my family many times, every time it's a success. Sometimes I use half wheat germ, half crackers for a nutrition boost.

Strawberry Jam

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2008
I made this jam last night and it was the first time I attempted to make jam. It came out perfectly. For those that don't know. Make sure and sterilize the jars in boiling water for 10 min. then pour the jam in the containers and seal and then I placed back in the boiling water for 5 minutes to ensure it lasts longer. I cut the strawberries in half and then mushed them with the bottom of a drinking glass, it worked really well. I am giving them away as holiday gifts, it was so easy!

Cheeseburger Meatloaf

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
This was sensational. I got a little crazy after reading the reviews and put ketchup and dill relish inside the meatloaf on top of the cheese. DH and I loved it but my mother and sister thought the pickle was a bit weird. I do want to try it with some grilled onions and mushrooms, maybe bacon. Excellent recipe though, both as is and with modifications.

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
I've been making this recipe for about 3 months. My family loves it!!! I use the "Best Marinara Sauce Yet" from this web site and ricotta cheese, instead of the jar sauce and provolone. So Good!!! Thanks for sharing.

Best Marinara Sauce Yet

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
This was my first time to make a real marinara sauce. It's perfect for my spaghetti, Ziti and pizza dishes. I triple the recipe and freeze the rest. Also, I make it the day before and let it set over night in the refrigerator. So easy to make!!! Thanks for sharing.

I followed the recipe just as printed. It is fantastic. I used corn tortillas, instead of the flour. You can't miss with this dish. Thank you for sharing.

Super-Delicious Zuppa Toscana

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2008
I just made this using fat free half and half, turkey bacon and turkey sausage to cut down on fat and cholesterol. It tasted wonderful but I think next time I'll stick with real bacon or try the bacon bits someone else recommended. Everything else was perfect.

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2008
Delish!! Takes no time to prepare. I actually prep the night before and add frozen chicken and everything else in the pot, stick in the fridge, and turn on before I leave for work in the morning. Changes: added one can of rinsed black bean, avocado slices, a few fresh chopped serranos (instead of canned green chilis), and used pre-packaged tortilla chips. It turns out perfectly every time.

French Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2008
I made these French loaves today in my bread machine. I let the bread machine mix the ingredients and then I removed the dough and put it into a 4 QT glass bowl and let it rise in my warm oven for 1 hr. Brushed melted butter and garlic powder before I rolled it into a loaf and added the egg wash twice as stated in the recipe. It turned out with a crispy crust and soft inside. There is only 1/2 loaf left this evening-so AWESOME. Thx for sharing this easy recipe.

French Bread Rolls to Die For

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2008
I made these rolls today with my bread machine. Oh my, so good. I made these to go with the "Easy Slow Cooker French Dip" from this site. If you haven't tryed this wonderful pull-apart sandwich meat recipe-you are missing out on a great, hot sandwich. I brushed the rolls with eggs whites and baked on my pizza stone. AWESOME!! Thx for sharing.

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2008
This recipe is yummy!! I kept the amount of beef, (fat-free) cream cheese, and Worcestershire sauce the same as directed on the recipe. I increased the gravy by using two cans of golden mushroom soup and a half cup of water. I chopped up a medium onion and added a generous amount of fresh, sliced mushrooms--probably 8oz as we love mushrooms. I also added a packet of onion soup mix and some cayenne pepper. I set the slow cooker on low for 8 hours. Love this recipe and will make again soon!

Bob's Awesome Lasagna

Very fantastic, basic recipe! I've made this several times (without the cottage cheese) and always run short on the meat sauce. In the future, I'll add mushrooms and finely diced vegetables to my sauce to make it go further.
