Extreme Banana Nut Bread 'EBNB'

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2009
This is a great tasting bread. It was a big hit the first time I fixed it for a fund raiser. It did fall some in the middle, but the taste was amazing.

Lemon Coconut Squares

Great recipe!! I found this recipe this morning about 4 am and had it ready to eat by 6 am breakfast a men's group has every Thursday. Simple and turned out great the first time. I did use 3/4 cup of lemon juice as one review recommended. I too like a little kick in my lemon deserts.

Never-Ever-Fail Meringue

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2009
This recipe did solve the problem of the meringue weeping but it does change the taste and the way it cooks. I like the taste better without the cornstarch but there is the problem with the weeping. I do use this recipe and will continue use it. Thanks for the fix.

Perfect Turkey

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
I made this turkey just like the recipe said, and it turned out wonderful. I soaked the turkey all night in brine water, and like some of the reviews said, I used a garbage bag to put it into. My family was all around the bar munching out on it while my husband was carving, and they were saying, "Mom, this is the best turkey you have ever cooked. The breast meat was so moist and tender, we couldn't believe it. My son got the recipe and cooked one the very next day just like mine, only I think he left the veggies out of it. I will make my turkey's this way from now on. Thanks so much for the recipe.

First time to try this recipe. Just like most everyone else, I think it turned out wonderful. I did cut the sugar to 1/4 cup as recomended by other raters. I will be cooking for 12 men for a week in Mexico soon. I plan on cooking this bread daily. Thank you for adding to the menu for the trip.

Fluffy Biscuits

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2008
I am fairly new to making biscuits and have been trying to find a good recipe. I almost gave up on me making a good biscuit from scratch that I was satisfied with. This recipe is great. It rises better and is more tender and flakey that any others I have tried. I brush the biscuits with melted butter before baking and have also tried with cinnamon and sugar on top of the butter before baking. Thank you for the good eats.

Empanadas de Pina (Pineapple Pastry Cookies)

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2008
I really like this recipe!! It is very quick and easy to put together. Can the crust be too flakely??? I have tried it twice and they came out great. The second time I rolled them out a little thicker and cut them out with a biscuit cutter them rolled out each cut piece to a size easy to work with. Other fillings work well too such as mango. I did make some small changes. Instead of rolling in sugar after baked, I used a salt shaker filled with cinnamon and sugar to cover the finished product. I have also used a sifter to cover with powered sugar. Thanks for sharing a great recipe.

Spicy Pecans N Cranberries

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2007
I thought this was great! I great way to use up all the pecans we get here in Texas! P.S. I think someone should only leave a posting if they have used the ingredients in this recipe, it's not fair to the poster. Changing the nut type can make a huge difference because nuts do not all taste the same.

I enjoyed the flavor however, like others, too much butter, next time I will cut it in half. I believe I will also add some red, green and orange bell peppers to give it more color.

Honey Duck

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2006
I did not have a whole duck because hubby refises to pluck (I don't blame him), so I put breasts in a container with orange juice (not concentrate) minced ginger root and honey and marinated overnite (when meat is cold takes longer to marinate). The next day we baked them in the oven and they were awesome!! Hubby now doesn't want duck any other way!
