World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2006
We ate on this lasagna for 3 days and my husband is already asking for more. I ommitted fennel seeds and dried basil (didn't have any). I only had 8 lasagna noodles. I used twice as much hamburger meat on accident, but it turned out perfect. In fact I recommend increasing one of the meats by a lb.

Pecan Tassies

These made me think of my precious Memaw. She always made them at Christmas. I inherited her handwritten recipe, but it got wet one year and is unreadable. This is as close as I've ever gotten to her recipe.

I added some leftover cubed baked potatoes, (about 3). Super good. My husband and I both love it!

Hawaiian Hot Dog Surprise

Yummy! I added a can of drained pork and beans, and I only used a cup of brown sugar, (no white sugar). Big huge hit at our 4th of July celebration.

Chicken Spaghetti III

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2006
Quick, Easy, and Great! My husband loved it so much that he asked for this to be his father's day meal. We always cook and share in my neighborhood. I chose to share this dish with two other families who have their own chicken spaghetti recipes. Now, this one is their favorite. I think the difference is the rotel.

Chicken Pot Pie II

Reviewed: May 15, 2006
No kidding, this is the real deal, major comfort food! My husband doesn't like pot pie, but ate 2 heapings of this. I took the advice of many other reviews and changed just a few things. Use 2 skinless chicken breasts, boiled and cubed; 8-10 small potatoes, cubed and nuked; 1 bag frozen mixture of carrots and peas fully defrosted; 2/3 cups flour instead of 1/3; Kroger brand refrigerated pie crust; cut the thyme and parsley (I didn't have any). Mmmmmm- the best

Frijoles a la Charra

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2005
I am a born and raised Texan, married to a hispanic male, and we have tried our share of beans a la charra. This is the best yet! My husband went to the grocery store this morning to buy all of the ingrediants so that I can make it again today. I, also, doubled the recipe, except for the beer, and cut my bacon when it was frozen. I can't wait to make this for my Hispanic in-laws, and show 'em gringa's stuff. He-He

This recipe was just okay for me. I have had better. Although the sauce was great, there wasn't enough. My family kept adding more ketchup after it was on their plate.

My family did not like it at all. Not a quick side dish at all; alot more trouble than mashed potatoes and it had a bland taste.

Extreme Banana Nut Bread 'EBNB'

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2005
A slice of heaven! My husband is the biggest banana nut bread eater on the planet, and he couldn't believe how EBNB melts in your mouth. I did add 1/2 cup extra walnut and 1 tsp. of vanilla as suggested by another reviewer. Also, it doesn't take as long to bake as instructed so watch for doneness.

Cheesy Ham and Hash Brown Casserole

Reviewed: May 23, 2004
I took this dish to a brunch at church today and everyone thought it was wonderful. It was super easy and even though I cooked it a couple of hours before serving and it was still warm and didn't need reheating. Travels well. I made it exactly as recipe calls for, although next time, I may add green chiles.

Georgia Peach Homemade Ice Cream

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2003
I made this ice cream for a family gathering. Everyone loved it. I used fat free half and half and 1% milk. I also used the full cup of sugar. Next time I may try using fat free condensed milk. Or maybe not, since this combination was so good.
