Candy Bar Bars

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2007
Really, really, really good! I didn't have any problems with crumbling, I just wish the chocolate and peanut butter on top wasn't so "gooey"...if the "topping" could be a little less gooey I would have given this recipe 5 stars! Other than that though - these were GREAT! I will definitely make these again! I also think that I might try just the oatmeal cookie bar with some nuts and dried cranberries! YUM!

Guy Approved Meatloaf

My VERY picky boyfriend that doesn't like meatloaf LOVED this one! I didn't use the liquid smoke, but I did put in about 2T of chipotle tabasco sauce! It was EXCELLENT!!

Carne Guisada II

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2007
Wonderful! My husband is Hispanic and he says that it was fantastic. He has eaten alot of Carne Guisada in his time. This recipe was much better than his family recipe. I followed it precisely, but I didn't have enough time to let it cook as long as the recipe calls for. I cooked it for 3.5 hours and it was VERY tender and flavorful!

Lemon Square Bars

After making the crust I discovered that I only had 2 eggs. EEK! Since the crust was already in the oven, I halved the filling recipe, cut the crust to fit a smaller pan, flipped it into the pan, (ate the reat of the crust) and went ahead with the recipe. YUMMY! It STILL turned out delicious, perfect combo of sweet and tart. Next time I will be prepared!

I just didn't like the mustard in it. It came out beautiful, but the mustard ruined it for us.

Poblano Chile Enchiladas a la Gringa

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2006
holy guacamole!!! this was so good! i added about a teaspoon of tarragon and some cilantro to the boiling chicken mixture, and i roasted a red bell pepper along with the poblanos just for fun. i used Monterey Jack cheese instead of mozzerella because it just seemed a little more authentic. next time i would use more cheese, probably some inside the actual enchilada as well as on top. the kids and husband ate it up quick! one word of warning, if you are roasting the peppers on a gas range this meal is a pretty good bit of work.

this was pretty good for what it was. i used more tomato juice and beef stock instead of the water and i garlic salted and cajun seasoned it pretty well. it was better than hamburger helper which is what most of the reviews compare it to.

this was just ok...my husband actually ate it in spite of the dijon mustard. i really think this was misnamed and should have been called 'dijon-bourbon chicken' at the very least.

Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2006
this was really good for me, but i did change a few things...i dipped the chicken in a milk and egg mixture before dredging it in flour, i also used more seasonings than the recipe called for; more salt, some fresh thyme, garlic salt, and more pepper. i used 5 tbsp of olive oil instead of adding the butter. yummy!

Sensational Sirloin Kabobs

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2006
It was a mess. Our kabobs burned up on the pit. The few that were salvagable for stovetop cooking did not have enough salt. The recipe didn't say to add it, so I assumed the marinade was going to add enough of a salted taste. Although the meat was tender, it was bland. The pineapple came out best.
