Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2009
Love this pie it tastes just like a pecan pie. I never buy Karo syrup so I never make pecan pie. I found this recipe while browsing on here and saved it. Well last night I made it and yum yum yum. My pecans did not rise to the top..? 2nd one is in the oven and I used more pecans I hope they rise.

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2009
This is my 2nd pie crust from scratch and omgosh it was so easy. I do not have a pastry cutter so I used a butter knife. This my new go to pie crust. If I knew it was this easy I would not have bought any this Thanksgiving. Great easy recipe!!

Caramel Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2009
This is a wonderful recipe and a nice alternative to using corn syrup. I am serving this for Thanksgiving and I am sure it will be a hit! I didn't and don't see a need to do anything differently to this recipe. It is great as it is!

Pumpkin Spice Cookie

Easy and good. I used a Reduced Sugar Yellow cake mix instead and added 1 egg for fluff factor. I added pumpkin pie spice to mix. I sprinkled with sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg on top.

Fast and Delicious Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
I am giving this 5 stars for how easy it was and it came out really yummy! I wouldn't compare it to a slow cooked bean soup that has simmered all day, but it really was good. I omitted the green peppers and added a can of diced green chilis and I added a couple of teaspoons of chili powder. This will stay on my list for super quick tasty meals!

Mmm-Mmm Better Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2009
I thought these brownies tasted wonderful. The only thing I was disappointed with was how thin then turned out. I like my brownies thick and cake like. However, these were a hit with my husband...he loved them because the fudgy type brownie is what he likes best. He gives them 5 stars. I will definately be using this recipe from now on. Next time I am going to double the recipe and try a smaller pan...I am through with store bought mixes!!

Irish Cream Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2009
Liked this recipe however, made the following modifications. I used the darkest chocolate cake I could find. Soo Good! However, the glaze was a little too grainy. Would reduce the amount of sugar but 1/4 cup and increase the irish creme to 1/3 cup next time.

Mom's Country Gravy

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2009
This was the first "from scratch" gravy and I must say that I like that I can season it to my taste. I wouldn't say it had no flavor, but a mild flavor that complimented the steak fingers that I made perfectly. I had so much left over that I am going to cook up some sausage and make biscuits in the morning. My husband and stepson gave it a thumbs up!

Banana Pancakes I

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2009
This was the first time I made banana pancakes. It was wonderful and my husband loved them too! I added a tsp of vanilla and 1/4 tsp cinnamon as suggested by another review. However, I didn't want lumps of banana in my batter so I mixed all the liquid ingredients and banana in a blender. I then added the dry ingredients and blended well. No lumps, no mess and I could pour right from the pitcher to the griddle. I was able to get 20 pancakes this way! This is a new household favorite!

Yummy! This is a super good pound cake. It has that crunchy sugary crust on the edges and moist dense center. Perfect. I used my wisk attachment on my kitchen-aid to really whip it up.

I have used this recipe for a couple of years. You can't go wrong with it. I have used pecan, walnuts, almonds..you name it, whatever nuts I had on hand or what was on sale at the store. Never skimp and use margarine on this. It deserves the real thing.

Great recipe! Did change it a bit, used one cup dry potato flakes, one cup Panko and one cup flour. Reduced the spices, but next time I'll use the full amount. Fried in Canola oil. Breading nice and crispy.

YUM YUM YUM I just made 40 of these cookies.I doubled the recepie and spooned them out into 1tbsp sized balls then smashed them down criss cross with a fork.I used almost a cup of b.sugar(didn't have enough for a full cup so I just used the same amount for the white sugar also) almost a cup of white and almost 2 cups of p.b.( again not enough for 2 full cups) a dash of vanilla and a pinch of b.s..These cookies are GREAT.
