About me:
I am single again after many years of marriage and am thoroughly enjoying the freedom. The foods I cook tend to be fast to prepare and simple to cook but I would love to expand my repertoire. A friend is helping that effort along, even to the point of sending me cookbooks. In addition I'm working at learning to use spices other than just salt and pepper! After losing 70 pounds in 13 months I make certain that anything I eat is healthy for me. In addition I cycle and run when the weather is good and work out at the gym when it isn't.

Pecan Pie V

Love this pie it tastes just like a pecan pie. I never buy Karo syrup so I never make pecan pie. I found this recipe while browsing on here and saved it. Well last night I made it and yum yum yum. My pecans did not rise to the top..? 2nd one is in the oven and I used more pecans I hope they rise.

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

This is my 2nd pie crust from scratch and omgosh it was so easy. I do not have a pastry cutter so I used a butter knife. This my new go to pie crust. If I knew it was this easy I would not have bought any this Thanksgiving. Great easy recipe!!

Caramel Pecan Pie

This is a wonderful recipe and a nice alternative to using corn syrup. I am serving this for Thanksgiving and I am sure it will be a hit! I didn't and don't see a need to do anything differently to this recipe. It is great as it is!
