Graham Streusel Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2008
This was liked by all. I decreased butter to 1/2c (1 stick), stirred the streusel mixture carefully with a fork and didn't have problems with it clumping or sinking to the bottom. No leftovers.

Pistachio Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2008
These seemed pretty tasteless. I made several different batches of cookies for a high school group and these were the last to go. They didn't have an appetizing look either. Slight green tint. might have been better to add green food color so they would look like they are supposed to be green....but it wouldn't help the taste.

Mom's Rum Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2008
The cake is excellent, but 3 stars because of the glaze problem. It didn't seem to be thick after 5 minutes of boiling so I boiled a little longer and then had the same problem that others have had with it turning to liquid when adding rum. I used the liquid in a powdered sugar icing and drizzled it over the top. Not as pretty as a glaze would have been, but tasted fine.

Becca's Taco Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2008
The soup was a little too thick for my liking. I added water and it seemed to weaken the taste. I will use the entire package of taco seasoning next time with about 2 cups water. This was very good.

Pecan Pie IV

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2008
WAY too easy to make. This recipe is why pie crusts come in 2-packs. It's a good thing pecans are expensive or this dessert might be too much of a staple.

Kung Pao Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2008
I make this all the time. Really a great/easy recipe that my wife and I love. Sometimes I substitute cashews for the peanuts but otherwise it's great as is.

This was great. Makes lots. I might add an extra bottle of ginger ale next time.

These were good. I would prefer to make them with fresh chicken next time.

Broccoli Salad IV

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2008
This was good but I expected it to be a little creamier or....something. I think I will reduce the amount of onion next time. It was a bit overpowering.

Absolute Stress

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2008
I love cranberry juice and I love vodka so I tried this. The picture by allrecipes shows a red drink, but mine was a pale color, not really red at all. I was a little disappointed that the peach schnapps kind of over rode the cranberry taste. I tried adding more cranberry and less schnapps and it was better but I think I'd leave out the schnapps all together next time.

Allison's Pasta Salad

Reviewed: May 29, 2008
This was good with the omission of grapes. I think next time I will use chunks of american cheese instead of cheddar, just a personal preference. I also might make a little more dressing because it seemed kind of dry. The dressing for this is very similar to a recipe I love that is served at Souper!Salads Restaurants. Thiers uses ribbon pasta and whole kernel corn.
