Bourbon Whiskey BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2009
I love this sauce... we live in Albania where you can NOT buy anything that even resembles BBQ sauce and this has been a BIG lifesaver for my family. I make hug batches and freeze half. It is amazing! THANK YOU!

Crunchy Oven Fried Tilapia

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2009
I made this exactly as written. It was crunchy but the coating was really dry. It also didn't have a lot of flavor as others have mentioned. I think it would be better you added some garlic salt or powder to the coating mix. Also if you don't mind the calories I would use butter or margarine instead of the egg white. But if you're trying to cut calories this is definitely the way to go. You just have to get past the dryness. I will probably make this again with the variations I mentioned above.

Chicken or Turkey Tetrazzini Deluxe

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2009
This dish was really good!! My 10 yr. old & 8yr. old were the true test and they wanted more. I used cream of celery and omitted the bell pepper plus I cut the recipe in half and used a 8x8 baking dish. Great comfort food!

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

This is my 2nd pie crust from scratch and omgosh it was so easy. I do not have a pastry cutter so I used a butter knife. This my new go to pie crust. If I knew it was this easy I would not have bought any this Thanksgiving. Great easy recipe!!

Easy Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2009
My 13-month-old daughter has had major issues with gaining weight, so I decided to make some whole wheat bread since it has more calories in it then the airy loaves in the store. This recipe is DELICIOUS!! I didn't have honey on hand, so I tried my luck on this recipe and am glad. I also didn't add the powdered egg, and I put my bread machine on rapid cycle so it would be ready faster. Make sure you check the dough a minute in like it suggests--I had to add about 2 tbsp of water. The bread is ooey, gooey, and OH SO GOOD! It'll be hard to save it for my daughter instead of eating it all myself!

Libby's® Pumpkin Roll with Cream Cheese Filling

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2009
This was excellent, my first time making a jelly roll type confection and it came out beautifully! I would recommend cutting down on the powdered sugar a little in the filling...it seemed "off" or a little too sweet or something. I added just a couple more spices to the pumpkin roll to bring out more flavor, including fresh grated nutmeg. yum!

Chicken Pot Pie VIII

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2009
Since I was short on time, I did not make the pie crust, I used store bought. As per other reviewers, I softened up the carrots and potatoes some so they would not come out too crunchy, and they ended up with just enough tooth to them. I did not have mushrooms, so I added corn to make up for it, and I used red potatoes instead of russets. I also added garlic powder and poultry seasoning, and I really enjoyed the additional flavor it gave! Overall, a good recipe I can use for a base! Very creamy, very hearty, very stick-to-your-ribs!

Easy Salsa Meatloaf

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2009
This was so easy to make. The ingredients are basic things I keep on hand all the time so I loved that about it! I made it exactly as it is written and I thought it was great! It was moist and flavorful. It was the first meatloaf recipe my kids didn't drown in ketchup so if it were up to me alone I would give it 5 stars but my family said it was just okay so I'm giving it 4 stars.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2009
This is awesome bread. I used a Cinnamon Plus blend from Pampered Chef and used 1 tablespoon to replace all of the spices. Also I warmed the canned Pumpkin mixed with the spices to bring out the flavor of the spices (also called blooming) and added that to the wet ingredients. I accidently forgot to add the water, but the bread came out both times just wonderful. I also put the butter, Cinnamon Plus (you could use Pumpkin Pie spice) and sugar glaze over the bread after coming out of the oven and poking holes in the top. I've already made two batches and am about to start the third. Thanks for the awesome recipe!

Rich Chocolate Truffle Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2009
Very Rich! I used milk chocolate chips, instead of semi-sweet - personal preference. Because I used milk chocolate, I didn't add any extra sugar at all. Also, I don't own a microwave, so I just heated the cream just to boiling, then poured it over the chocolate chips and let it set. Then stirred the chocolate chips until smooth. The pie is creamy and wonderful. My family loves it. Thanks so much for sharing!

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2009
SO good! I doubled the glaze, used rice vinegar, cut the sugar in half, and fresh ginger. Shortened the baking time by 10 minutes. I used half thighs and half chicken breasts. No surprise the breasts dried out a bit, but the kids loved it! Will definitely make this again and again. Thanks so much!

I love this recipe and so does my family! I used 1 c whole wheat flour, 1 1/2 cups of white flour and 1/2 cup of oat flakes. This makes them heartier and chewy. Yum! The love them right out of the oven with out the icing. Enjoy!
