Chewy Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2009
I really liked this cookie. My husband...not so much. I followed others' advice and cut the flour back to 2 cups and used 1 cup of peanut butter. I also made much smaller cookies. I just dropped them on the cookie sheet with a tablespoon and got 5 dozen normal size cookies. Overall, I thought the cookie was great and I will bake them again. So what if my husband doesn't like them....more for me!

Crunchy Oven Fried Tilapia

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2009
I made this exactly as written. It was crunchy but the coating was really dry. It also didn't have a lot of flavor as others have mentioned. I think it would be better you added some garlic salt or powder to the coating mix. Also if you don't mind the calories I would use butter or margarine instead of the egg white. But if you're trying to cut calories this is definitely the way to go. You just have to get past the dryness. I will probably make this again with the variations I mentioned above.

Meatloaf Cordon Bleu

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2009
I did the same as others suggested and covered for the 1st half. Also I added brown sugar (about 1/4 c), balsamic vinegar 1Tbsp, and worcestershire sauce 1Tbsp. But, I cut the recipe in half from its origional. I also added pastrimi to the ham and used Harviti cheese instead of provolone. It was what I had but, MAN was it great! Also fresh garlic gave it the perfect touch.

Easy Salsa Meatloaf

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2009
This was so easy to make. The ingredients are basic things I keep on hand all the time so I loved that about it! I made it exactly as it is written and I thought it was great! It was moist and flavorful. It was the first meatloaf recipe my kids didn't drown in ketchup so if it were up to me alone I would give it 5 stars but my family said it was just okay so I'm giving it 4 stars.

Peppered Shrimp Alfredo

I didn't have the red pepper but used green pepper instead. I didn't have the mushrooms either. I used milk instead of cream and it was a big hit! I will use this recipe again. Thanks!

Sweet And Sour Glazed Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2009
This was so delicious! And very easy! I made the sauce exactly as written except halfed it because there are only 3 of us but I am not a fan of cutting up whole chickens so I just used boneless skinless breasts and thighs. Served it over leftover fried rice from some chinese takeout the night before and it was perfect! Next time I think I will try putting in some pineaple and green bell peppers.

Pickle Rolls

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2009
Especially for those reducing their carb intake, but even if you're not, these are really tasty without the tortillas. Great to pack in a zipper bag to take for a snack. Without the tortilla and using the right sliced ham, these can be low fat and a great source of protein!

Gravy Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2009
Well, this was definitely easy! I had 2 very thick chops, so I cut them in half so they would cook in the time alloted. I did as some suggested and sprinkled the chops with Old Bay seasoning and garlic powder (in lieu of actual garlic). After browning, I added a can of drained mushrooms to the pan and sauted. I used cream of celery, since I had no cream of mushroom. Added the mushrooms to it 1/2c each of milk & water. The chops were tender and the gravy was nice. Not a spectacular meal, but certainly good enough to make again. Thanks Jennipoo for another way to make pork chops!

Fabulous Foolproof Lasagna

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2009
This turned out very nice and the kids I was feeding all had seconds. The only thing I did different was use more sauce (the only sauce I had on hand was a 26 oz. can)and I'm glad I did because I think it would have been too dry otherwise. The noodles came out great - nice and tender - not cruchy at all. Oh, and I used 1/2 italian sausage and 1/2 lean ground beef because I think the flavor of italian sausage it too overpowering. It had just the right amount of flavor. Over all it was a pretty easy recipe to make for a lasagne recipe. Will probably use it again.

Yummy Pork Chops

This was pretty tasty and the pork chops were tender enough to cut with a regular table knife. But the clean up of the pan - well let's just say it wasn't so fun.

Slow Cooker Chicken Pot Pie Stew

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2009
This is exactly what the name says - the filling of a chicken pot pie. As far as that goes it was pretty good. I made it exactly as the recipe said. But for me and my family one of our favorite things about a chicken pot pie is the crust so I served it over biscuits which turned out pretty good. I guess if it weren't named "Chicken Pot Pie Stew" one might call it a thick chicken soup. And it does make A LOT! My crock pot was almost overflowing by the time I got all the ingredients in it.

Melt-In-Your-Mouth Meat Loaf

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2009
This was one of the best meatloaf recipes I've tried. I cooked it in a loaf pan in the the oven instead of the slow cooker. But other than that I followed the recipe exactly. Turned out very moist and the sauce was really yummy!

Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2009
Good flavor and very easy to put together. I made it exactly as directed except my roast was 3 lbs insted of 2 lbs. So I cooked it on high instead of low because I was afraid it wouldn't be done in the middle. It was so tender it almost fell apart when I cut it to serve it. The leftovers were just as good if not better than the first day since it had time to soak up more of the juice. I'm thinking I may discard the remaining juice and shred the rest of the leftovers and add BBQ sauce for sandwiches. YUM!

Crispy Herb Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2009
Not sure why this is called crispy "herb" baked chicken because there are no herbs in it. But it was crispy (on one side). It was easy to prepare and clean up since I lined the baking sheet with foil as the recipe sugguested. It was also a little on the salty side. I think if I were to make this again (and I probably will since it's so easy) I would cut back on the garlic salt say maybe by half and add garlic powder to make up for the rest of the garlic taste.

Fried Cabbage with Bacon, Onion, and Garlic

This is really good...BUT only use 1 TBSP of salt. I don't mind things salty but 3 TBSP's is overkill. I did add cayenne pepper to spice it up a little. Good job, Mrs. Smith
