Basil Buttered Beans

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2009
Most excellent. I put butter on corn, why not green beans too! It really helped give green beans a little kick. I used frozen green beans instead of fresh because that is what I had on hand. I am sure the fresh would have provided a better texture. The flavor was awesome!

Impossibly Easy Taco Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2009
Yes, it is easy. Reminds me of shepard's pie, but as mexican food. You can add as many spices and hot stuff as you want or leave it just as it is. Only 4stars because the actual recipe wasn't as spicy as I prefer.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

This a delicious basic stew recipe! I used celery salt instead of regular and left out the celery, added a 1/4 cup red wine and a small can of tomato sauce...yummy!

I have made these at least 50 times, I use chocolate pudding instead of vanilla and add coconut and vanilla, the very best.

Hazelnut Chocolate Chip Scones

Perfect for something quick and really good. I added to the base chocolate chips, vanilla and pecans. In 20 minutes it was happily all gone by friends and family who all wanted more. I will use the base to make others, lemon, apples etc. Thanks for this recipe.

Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2008
This is 5 stars if your in a hurry. I really missed a bottom and top crust that cobblers are known for even though this topping was great, we just prefer crust. I used 2 large cans of drained sliced peaches and that worked out great. The peach recipe itself was 5 stars, using splenda let me eat more.

Streusel Topped Pumpkin Pie by EAGLE BRAND®

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2008
#1 This will be your all time favorite, very quick and easy to put together and even easier to eat. Wonderful all year around, exactly as the other Eagle brand pie but with a great and easy to do topping that adds an extra goodness, with or without the pecans.

Cheesy Italian Tortellini

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2008
Absolutely delicous, with a few small changes that I took from previous reviews. I minced a clove of garlic and sauted it in a bit of olive oil, then added ground turkey. As the turkey browned, I added some italian seasonings. Everything else was done according to the recipe. My family loved this and I will definitely be making this again.

Black Bean Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2008
I made this recipe because my family loves black beans, but it was pretty tasteless and not quite the consistancy that I like in a soup. I won't be making this again unless I make some major changes.

Hamburger Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2008
This is a good base recipe. I only gave it 3 stars because I made a LOT of changes, since the original recipe as written seemed as though it needed some livening up. I didn't include many of the ingredients listed (no garlic, no hot pepper sauce, no celery, no flour). I added a lot more W. sauce (probably around 2/3 cup, give or take). I also added about a can of tomato soup. I also added lots of spices (cajun, pepper, onion powder, chili powder, garlic salt) to the meat after I browned it (we like our soups with some kick!). I also added half a packet of beef stew seasoning. And, let's see, I think the last change I made was to include cooked noodles in the soup. A nice, wide egg noodle. Made it look great, and sorta pulled it together. Great basic recipe, though--obviously there's a good foundation to build on it and really make it yours. We will definitely be having it again (well, my version).

Chicken Wing Dip

This was FABULOUS!! It was easy, and tasted great. The best thing is that you can eat it hot or cold. Beware, though, cold is somehow spicier. I can't say enough good things about this. Thanks for a great recipe--with football season coming up, this will get a lot of use from us!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2008
Terrific! My only "complaint," if you can even call it that, is that this is a very large recipe, and yields a LOT of cookies. I love the recipe, but I felt like it took everything in my cupboard to make it. I will halve it next time, and it should be PERFECT! The cookies have a terrific cake-like texture, and are excellent as cookie bars. My hubby has already requested that I make more, and we're not even done with this batch yet! Thanx much for sharing!

A Southern Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2008
The breading was really good, but the directions were very poor. Cooking until golden brown on both sides does not get the inside of the chicken near the bones cooked at all and for someone who's new at cooking (like me) those instructions were very misleading. Even using boneless chicken, the inside still wasn't cooked thoroughly.

Peach Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2008
4 stars because the peachy wasn't all that peachy. Otherwise it was a great easy recipe. I didn't use the icing/frosting called for in the recipe because I didn't have the ingredients. I also used a white cake mix instead of yellow because that is what I had on hand. I like peaches!!! Will definately try again, and maybe use the frosting as specified for more peachy. Thanks!

Taco Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2008
Very good! I made a few substitutions to what I had on hand. NO PASTA--I shredded about 4 small flour tortillas, dipped them in chicken broth, then mixed them with the meat. NO DICED TOMATOES- I used extra hot rotel, that really spiced it up and made it hot. ADDED BELL PEPPER AND GARLIC to the meat mix. Very very very good. ADDED CHILI BEANS with juice to the bottom of the casserole. Would have used refried beans, but gosh darn I didn't have those either! Will keep this recipe and make again. I like serving it with sour cream on top.
