Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2009
My family of 4 men. 3 teenagers and one some what grown men like the sauce a lot. I added a tbsp. more of butter. Instead of a 1/2 cup of lime 3/4 of cup. I add 1/4 cup chicken broth. It made the sauce perfect. Try to make this with rice. It's just a good side dish for the chicken. I have been order to make this again.

Best Brownies

This was perfect for my chocolate fix. Didn't take long and most everyone should have all the supplies in the pantry. They are so soft and melt in your mouth. I made just the brownie without the frosting.

Navy Bean Soup

my family has made this soup 5 times since the cold weather has set in. I put it in the slow cooker. I cook the beans with the ham for 2.5 before adding all the rest. This is my families favor dish.

My family loved this recipe. It is so quick and easy to put together and cook. I did leave out the carrots and zucchinni. i used white cooking wine. I was out of the red cooking wine. I will cook this again.

Excellent recipe. The only change I made was to use ham boullion instead of chicken. Thanks for the great recipe!

Chocolate Peppermint Candies

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2008
I had fun with this. I haden't made X-mas cookies and candies for a few years, so I decided to put together a few items this year. I've been in the kitchen all day, and you'd think this being the final project I'd be ready to get it done! I did concoct a dipping spoon out of a metal skewer I had, it's in the photo I posted. I colored my mints pink and green, and really wanted a little color in this presentation, so I didn't dip some of them, I just piped a little chocoloate squiggle on the tops. I believe it will package well. Thanks for the recipe. Oliver, my mint lover will flip over these!

Easiest Focaccia Recipe

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2008
Although I liked this bread, it wasn't really what I was hoping for. I was wanting a hard crusted bread, and even though I baked this on a stone it really wasn't hard crusted. But thanks, as it was good.

Pecan Pie V

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2008
This is my new favorite pecan pie recipe! It tasted so much better than the sickly sweet stuff. I made two pies and gave one to my neighbor who said it was the best pecan pie she had ever had. My only disappointment is that it crumbles easily so the presentation isn't fabulous, but in the end, who cares, it still tastes good!

Aunt Teen's Creamy Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2008
I can't believe it... it worked! I followed the directions exactly except for one substitution: I used 2 cups of semisweet chocolate chips and 1 cup of Andes mint chocolate pieces. YUM! It tastes like the fudge version of a Thin Mint. One word of caution: when it says "stir constantly," it really does mean stir constantly. I brought mine to a rolling boil, but had to reduce the heat slightly because it was starting to burn. This just added a slightly caramel taste to it, and it worked out in the end, but next time I'll know the reduce the heat immediately. I boiled mine for exactly 5 minutes and it turned out fabulous! Thank you Aunt Teen!!

Almond Toffee Bark

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2008
SO VERY yummy. The toffee layer was far to thin for the amount of Almonds that the recipies called for. After I poured the frist layer of almond toffee, I made another batch of just the toffee without the almonds, and it turned out GREAT. Make sure that you wait until the toffee turns to a dark brown to get that good toffee flavor. I used high end chocolate and used the white chocolate on the dark and made pretty swirls. Note sure why but large areas of the chocolate broke away from the toffe when I was breaking it. I had some just toffee pieces, some just chocolate and aout 1/2 that was both.

Chocolate Mint Cookies I

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2008
I hate to give this a low rating, because I had such high hopes for it! My cookies turned out flat as crackers. I adjusted for higher altitude, but I think the problem is the melted butter. If I try this recipe again, I may try just softening the butter and creaming it with the sugar instead of melting it fully, since typically a flat cookie means your butter was TOO soft. Good idea, though!

Tzatziki Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2008
Yeah! Ever since having this sauce at our favorite local Greek restaurant, I have wanted to recreate it at home. I used this actually as a dressing for a cucumber-tomato salad, so the thin consistency was perfect, but I would definitely draing the cukes if you're wanting to use it for a dip. Thanks for this recipe!

Yum! I used this recipe as a jumping off point for stuffed pitas. I used the dressing, and added avocado, sprouts and toasted cashews along with leftover cubed chicken. Mixed and stuffed in a pita and you have a great, quick lunch!

Sausage Stuffed Jalapenos

I substituted half of the sausage for an equal amount of bite-sized slightly pinked shrimp. I was very good. Next time I'll add mushrooms. (Remember to wear gloves when seeding the jalapenos. I forgot and "burned" my fingers.)
