Mexican Zucchini Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2009
Wow!! I'm rating this five stars for the great base recipe, even though I made some changes. SO GOOD! I substituted Rotel for the tomatoes, but still added the can of green chiles. It was spicy but not so bad that you couldn't enjoy it. I also added diced cooked chicken and white rice to make it more filling. This was extremely tasty... my husband had seconds and even requested the leftovers for lunch! This will definitely be on our regular rotation..thanks for the recipe!!

Tuna Noodle Casserole from Scratch

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2009
Very good and really very easy. Thanks MVANWINKLE. The things I did differently than the recipe is that I used farfalle pasta (had it) and substituted crushed french fried onions for the bread crumbs. Since some of the early reviews complained about dryness, I also added 1/4 cup of white wine to the mushrooms when they were cooking. I really think this might be just as good with chicken as it is with tuna.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2009
Death by Chocolate!!!! I made this cake and finished it off with "Chocolate Ganache" by ingridevogel, also on this site. I did cut the oil to 1/2 cup, it seemed like so much! And made up the liquid with the warm water. I also used mini chocolate chips. This was the most chocolate of chocolate that I have ever tasted! A small slice goes a long way!

David's Yellow Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2009
So good! All I did different was add a tablespoon of mayo to up the moisture. Next time, I may add a box of vanilla pudding mix. I was a bit concerned about the "eggy" flavor some mentioned, but I waited until it cooled a bit and tasted it - no egg flavor! Very good - I will be using this - so long, box mixes!

Creamed Chicken for Biscuits

OMG! Fantastic recipe! I used 2% milk in place of cream to cut the calories, and it turned out great. Using half chicken broth helped it to stay rich tasting without having to use the cream. Thanks for the recipe.

The Best Lemon Bars

Heavenly! I made my bars in an 8x11 glass pan that I've had forever. It's an odd size, but I've actually used it many times.I've made lemon bars before with a similar recipe that I can't seem to find. They've always went over sooo well. Thanks for the recipe!

Hasselback Potatoes

These were just ok... great presentation but so-so on the taste factor. It took a lot longer to cook (1 hr 15 min) and they still had a little bite to them. If I make these again, I'll try different seasonings and different potatoes.

Fish Tacos

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2009
Um... WOW is all I can say!!! This is easily the top 5 best meal I've ever made. We are not huge fans of fish, so I substituted boneless/skinless chicken breast and it turned out phenomenal! Other than that, followed the recipe to the letter with the exception of a few minor substitutions - cilantro instead of oregano in the sauce, no capers, 1/2 tsp cayenne. It wasn't too spicy so I think I'll add the entire tsp next time. also, used sour cream instead of yogurt. AMAZING!!! Thank you for this recipe!

Juicy Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2009
This is full of flavor! It's great to be able to bake something so good with such little effort.I bake this every week. I save the drippings and use to flavor the side dishes made to accompany the chicken. Our favorite is to boil egg noodles and add some of the drippings with a little milk with cornstarch. The broth will flavor the egg noodles so no other seasoning is needed. Thanks for the great recipe!

Amish White Bread--Tastes like Hawaiian bread.

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2009
Okay, I just made this bread and it is amazing! I am very new to bread making and this recipe is fool-proof!! I put everything in my bread maker on dough mode and then did the rest as the recipe states. I did not decrease my sugar because I wanted a sweeter bread. Next time, I will decrease the sugar as others have suggested. Thanks for the recipe!! Good luck--happy bread making!
