Lucky New Year's Black-eyed Pea Stew

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2008
I made this stew according to the recipe. The only change I made was using canned black-eyed peas, rather than frozen ones.

Shrimp Creole IV

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2008
This is a very tasty recipe, although a little too spicy for me. I only made two changes to the recipe. I used a 14.5 oz can of chopped tomatoes, rather than fresh tomatoes, and used vegetable shortening rather than bacon grease.

I made this recipe according to the instructions, using all of the ingredients. My wife and I both thoroughly enjoyed it! I served it over white rice, along with egg rolls.

Chicken Claridge Stew

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2008
I made the following changes to the recipe. I put all of the ingredients, except the chicken and diced tomatoes, in a slow cooker. I first browned the chicken in a frying pan, with a small amount of vegetable oil, and then added it to the slow cooker. I cooked the food in the slow cooker for 7 1/2 hours, and then added the tomatoes for the last half hour. As recommended, I served it over hot cooked rice.

This was a great recipe, if you take the time to read the reviews. I made according to directions but added the ricotta and sauce like kitchenwarriorprincess suggests. Also add more sause and chesse like other reviews suggest. If you make changes recipe is a 5.

This was a great different recipe. I made according to directions. Only change was I doubled the sauce because I wanted plently to cover rice. I will definatly make again!

Honey Walnut Shrimp

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2008
This is a great recipe if you camelize the nuts by saute'the walnuts in brown sugar an butter(I like nuts so I use extra). You will need to use the whole can of sweet milk and and the honey and mayo to taste(appox 2-3 T. of both). I use cornstarch and egg for shrimp batter. Season the shrimp and the batter. I serve heated (add some milk to thin sauce if heating)over peppered white rice with green onion. This adds much needed color and extra taste. With these changes it is my household's favorite meal.

I made my own ginger garlic paste, by combining chopped garlic with a piece of ginger root in a blender, along with some olive oil. I served the chicken over rice.

Amazing Slow Cooker Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2008
Some reviewers have had problems with the chicken soup mixture not sticking to the chicken breasts. I solved this problem by dipping the chicken breasts in the chicken soup mixture, and then dipping them in bread crumbs before frying.

Chicken Tarragon

Reviewed: May 18, 2008
This is very tasty recipe! I grated the carrots and zucchini. I melted the butter in a microwave oven and then mixed it together with the tarragon, lemon juice, salt and pepper in a food processor before pouring it over the chicken and vegetables. I also browned the chicken in vegetable oil, rather than butter. Other than that, I made the recipe according to the instructions. Everything was cooked in the given time.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2008
This was the best cinnamon roll I'd ever tasted. My daughter took the three-day-old leftovers (amazing that we had any) to the law office and said they disappeared immediately, with people asking her all day where she got them from. We will make these over and over again (and plan better so the "leftovers" get taken to the office less stale).

Good Old Meat Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2008
I confess, I used this as a starting point in my "clean out the frig" meat pie. I used cube steak, corn, broccoli, frozen hash browns (the chunky cube type), and baby carrots (about a cup and a half full). Oh and a small split of red wine, turned just a little bit vinegar. This recipe gave me the proportions of vegetables to meat, and a list of seasonings to use. I couldn't have cleaned out my refrigerator without it! The result was delicious.

Buttermilk Pie III

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2008
Turned out absolutely perfect and delicious! I made the recipe to the letter, not changing a thing, and I couldn't be more pleased. The only hard part is keeping a straight face to get your kids to try it before you break the news there's buttermilk (ewwwww) in it. Some adults, too. But once they've got a bite of it in their mouths, they're sold.

Sweet Dinner Rolls

This is a super recipe. I followed the gal's directions for use with the Kitchenaid mixer, but followed the recipe's ingredients exactly. Mine turned out light and fluffy and beautiful and delicious. My family was extremely impressed with me and my cooking, and I didn't let them know it was your recipe that made me out the hero of the evening.

Summery Ratatouille

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2007
This is a very good recipe! I decided to make it after watching the movie "Ratatoille". I chose this one, because my wife doesn't care for eggplant, which traditional Ratatoille uses. The only change I made to the recipe was using pork sausage, rather than ground pork.

Beef Barley Stew

I modified this recipe for cooking in a slow cooker. This involved adding all of the ingredients, except for the vinegar and parsley, all at once. I cooked it in the slow cooker for eight hours. I then added the vinegar and parsley last.

Orange-Glazed, Pork Tenderloin with Italian Seasoning

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2007
This is a very good recipe for cooking pork loin. It came out very tasty, and my wife and I both thoroughly enjoyed it. I seared the meat on a gas grill, according to the recipe. The only thing I did different was, instead of leaving the meat in the grill, I cooked it for 5 minutes in a microwave oven.

Easy Sugar Cookies

This is a great recipe - my kids LOVE this! My son described them as "heavenly." Only thing I did different is add an extra egg, as other reviewers suggested. The first batch I only used one - and they were a tad dry. Second batch I used two and they turned out perfect! Thanks!
