Western South

The Western South follows the shoreline of the Mississippi River from the eastern border of Louisiana up into Arkansas, then heads overland to take in Oklahoma before slipping back through Texas to the Gulf Coast and the Rio Grande. Along the way, this sub-region encounters a number of cuisines, from the French- and Spanish-inspired cooking of Louisiana, to the beef-based barbecue and Tex-Mex traditions of Texas. Perched on the border between the South and the Midwest, Oklahoma and Arkansas serve as magnets for attracting the best cooking and food traditions of both regions.

Chocolate Frosting II

Reviewed on May 8, 2008 by ILove2Ck
This turned out great, I'd make this again but not for a cake needing a light fluffy whipped airy delicate frosting, as this isn't it. Nice chocolate flavor, this is a great buttercream frosting, but like I said, it is best paired with a denser cake like a brownie.

Chocolate Mint Brownies

Reviewed on May 8, 2008 by Baybee Caix
These were good but before attempting, please do not expect fudgy brownies. The texture was more on the cake-y side, but the frosting is very rich. I went a little overboard with the mint extract ( I subbed mint extract- which is more concentrated- for the mint liqueur). The mint layer was borderline toothpaste-y! OOPS! Overall, great taste.

I have probably made these 5 times and every time they are so delicious and the hit of dinner. I will definitely make these over and over again.
