Deep Dish Brownies

Pretty good brownies! I took other suggestions and just added 2 eggs and left out the baking soda. Also added some semi-sweet choc chips.

Love this recipe! This is a dish I make often in my house. My husband requests it at least once a month. Perfect served with mashed potatoes.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2007
This recipe was fantastic! I used 4 cups of zucchini like someone suggested and I also used 1 1/4 cups of white sugar and 1/2 cup of brown sugar. I only put nuts in one of the loaves because my son won't eat anything with nuts in it. They came out perfect. I have a feeling they will be gone quickly.

Chocolate Pie II

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2007
This pie is ok. But there were a couple of problems. First of all, it does not take 7 minutes in the microwave. About halfway thru the 4th minute, I stopped the microwave because the mix was getting way too thick. It had already thickened beyond pie texture. After I added the eggs, vanilla, and butter, the texture was better. But the second problem was with the flavor. It was very chocolatey, but tasted dense. Like maybe too floury. I would make this pie in a pinch, but it's nowhere near my favorite.

Cool Whipped Frosting

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2007
I used this recipe for a cookies and cream cake. I used plain cool whip, and french vanilla pudding, then folded crushed cookies into the frosting. I put this onto a devil's food cake, made from a mix. It is very simple and tastes great! Next time, I'm going to try chocolate flavored cool whip and chocolate pudding. I'm sure it will be amazing as well!

No Bake Peanut Butter Pie

Reviewed: May 29, 2007
Unbelievably delish! It tastes like a frozen peanut butter cup! I did make a couple personal adjustments. I used an Oreo chocolate pie crust. I added a thin layer of hot fudge ice cream topping to the bottom of the crust along with one chopped peanut butter cup before adding the filling. On top of the filling I added more hot fudge by using a fork, and also 2 chopped peanut butter cups. For the finishing touch, I piped rosettes of whipped topping around the pie. This was so easy to make and everyone loved it. You definitely DO NOT need to let the pie sit out of the freezer before serving.

Lemon Cake with Lemon Filling and Lemon Butter Frosting

Reviewed: May 29, 2007
For someone that loves lemon everything, I found this recipe to be nothing short of exceptional! The flavor was so intense! Because I was in a hurry over the Memorial Day weekend I used a white cake mix but used 2 egg whites and 1 whole egg instead of only the 3 egg whites that the box recipe calls for. I also used store-bought lemon curd. I did make the included recipe for the lemon buttercream frosting, which was out of this world! I will definitely make this cake again and again. Everyone raved over it, and I was bummed that there were no leftovers!

Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: May 25, 2007
Wonderfully soft cookie with a great flavor! The cream cheese really makes these cookies stand apart from your basic sugar cookie. I rolled mine out to about 1/4 inch as they don't rise much. I used a royal icing on some and a cream cheese icing on the rest. Both were exceptional! The royal icing allows you to be detailed in decorating them while the cream cheese icing is just yummy! I will use this as my sugar cookie recipe from now on!

Blackberry Cobbler II

Reviewed: May 10, 2007
This is the perfect recipe for using fresh berries! As did many other reviewers, I used a little less sugar in the berry mixture, and added cinnamon to both the topping and the berry mixture. I also doubled the recipe for the topping. Definitely remember to put a foil covered baking sheet under your skillet...as I forgot to during the first 10 minutes of baking and spent hours cleaning my oven! Using the cast iron skillet gave it quite the southern touch! And coming out of the oven it was beautifully bubbly! Delicious when served warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped topping! Will for sure make again! I plan on using fresh peaches and red raspberries as substitutes after blackberry season is over!

This was a wonderful recipe! I didn't make any changes (but I did season the fish first) and it was delicious. The only thing I will change next time is to add some bread crumbs like suggested to keep the topping from melting off. This is definitely a keeper!

Fabulous Fudge Chocolate Cake

I made this yesterday for my son's birthday. It was wonderful! I used 5 squares of chocolate and made 2 round cakes. I didn't use the caramel topping, I instead made the French Buttercream frosting from this site. This will be the cake I make all the time now!
