Easy and Delicious Chicken and Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2006
The first time I made this, it tasted fantastic, however the rice on the bottom didn't cook, and the chicken was a little over done. The next time I made it, I cut the chicken up into 8 pieces instead of 4, and I mixed in the liquid and rice. I also mixed in the soup mix. This time it was cooked perfectly! I've made this 3 times now, and this time I didn't have cream of chicken soup, so I substituted cream of broccoli and it was FANTASTIC. We had no leftovers, and that never happens.

Blueberry Coffee Cake I

We really enjoyed this cake. I cut down the fat by using 1/4 cup applesauce 1/4 cup butter for the cake. I also used eggbeaters instead of an egg and 2% milk. Will definately make again!

We loved this recipe. I didn't have any wine, so I substituted the wine and vinegar for red wine vinegar. I also grilled it using one of those grill bags from Reynolds. It was very tender and really tasty

Cornbread Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2006
I cooked this last night and it was excellent! Changes:I used regular corn instead of cream style, and only had mozerella cheese & cheddar, and green chilies for the jalapenos. I will reduce the a mount of onion next time, a little too much for me. I also used hot sausage, and it was perfect.

Creamy Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2005
Very good! Made this for the first time for Thanksgiving. Was a hit! I couldn't find fresh blueberries to save my soul, so I used frozen. Thawed and drained them in a collander first so the pie wouldn't be too soupy. And I can't stand "cutting in" dough. Just a pet peeve of mine, so I used the food processor. Easy and good. Thanks for sharing!

Awesome Broccoli-Cheese Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2005
Just tried this at Thanksgiving. Got RAVE reviews! Although I DID change just a couple of things. I don't like frozen veggies, so I used fresh broccoli, but the store was almost out, so I used half fresh broccoli and the other half was fresh califlower. Also, I am pregnant and trying to get protien anywhere I can, since I'm not a big meat fan, so I used 2 eggs instead of 1. And I love onions so instead of 1/4 cup, I used a whole medium onion. And I also used 12 oz. of cheese instead of the 8 called for in the recipe. It was very good and very easy. Thank you for sharing.

This is still the best Kabob recipe I've ever made. I've had to give it to many friends and relatives. I do substitute Olive oil for the vegetable oil. It's melds the ingredients together much better, and the taste is terrific.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: May 30, 2004
I've made this pie a dozen times, and it just keeps getting better and better. So many of my friends and family have raved that I usually make two because it just doesn't last! I use the pillsbury pie crusts, and mix the apples and sugar mixture before putting in the crusts... then I brush a little butter and cinnamon on top of the lattice. I also add a teaspoon of cinnamon to the sugar mixture. Most definately a recipe I'll use forever!

Martha Washington Candies

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2003
Made these with a few changes. Added an extra cup of powdered sugar, and they didn't turn out too wet. Just right! Didn't want to get my hands dirty or have the heat of my hands affect the butter and make it runny, so I used a melon baller and dropped them on the wax paper. Turned out perfect little balls! Easy as pie! Quick too. Also dipped the first few of them completely in chocolate, but thought it was way too chocolaty...overpowering the rest of the candy. So, the remainder, about 80% of them only got the bottom half dipped in chocolate, then I drizzles a small amount on the top of the candies for decoration. Looked very pretty. I didn't think they took quite as long to make as everyone else did. Thank you for sharing this recipe with us Willi.

Country Soup in a Jar

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2002
I make "Gift in a Jar"s for people. This was, by far, one of the prettiest that I've ever made. Got raves from family, friends and coworkers on presentation. However, I always make recipes before I give them away. But this one I didn't. You see, I don't like soup at all. But I know a lot of people do, especially in the winter. I've never gotten a "bad" recipe from this website, so I figured "4 stars...GREAT!" Well, that must've been on presentation only, because numerous people have come up to me to tell me that the soup wasn't good and that the recipe wasn't correct. (I felt awful!) Apparently the liquid isn't adaquate at all. And when you do add enough liquid to make it "soupy" then it makes 2 VERY LARGE POTS of soup! Not bad if you are having company, but it should say that on the label. I won't make this recipe again.

Zesty Hominy and Cheese

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2002
I LOVE hominy! Only had 2 cans in the house, so used those 2 cans plus 1 can of the "summer crisp" corn. Brought it to work to share, since my hubby hates hominy (but not as much as he hates squash). Most people at work wouldn't touch it...(Never realized how many people have a "hominy phobia". LOL) But those who were fond of it loved it and asked for the recipe. Thank you for sharing.
