Some enjoyed this; some did not. Pretty tart - even with streusel topping. Used fresh berries.

Foolproof Rib Roast

Followed the directions exactly, with some trepidation during the 3-hour in oven period, as we were afraid it would get cold. Excellent, though, and enjoyed by all. Thanks for sharing!

Indian Peas And Cauliflower

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2009
I usually dislike cauliflower, but this recipe made it palatable even for me. I only gave it three stars because I had to make some changes. I added some turmeric, paprika, and curry powder to give it a more classically Indian flavor and a handful of raisins for a little sweet contrast. In the future I will probably leave out the turmeric, because I felt that it made it a little bit too bitter, and also add a sauteed onion.

Easter Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2009
There are 2 reasons I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. The first is that the recipe as written does not call for pre-cooking the bacon. You end up with limp bacon and a layer of grease on top of the casserole. I also think there is too much milk in the recipe. However, it is a great jumping point and with a few tweaks it has become a hit in our house! I always fix it Christmas morning but I make it a lot through the year also (even as a no fuxx dinner). Our favorite variation is to use sausage instead of bacon, mexican blend cheese, and add a well drained can of Rotel. Yummy! It's also good with spinach and mushrooms for a brunch.

Tomato 'n' Shrimp Pasta

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
A little bit spicy...a little bit savory! For a simple recipe this dish was pretty good. Just keep a careful hand on the red pepper flakes. My only change was to use whole tomatoes rather than diced, but that's a personal preference. Enjoy! UPDATE...After dinner tonight I caught my girlfriend eating all of the shrimp out of the tupperware while standing in front of the refrigerator. Now all I'm left with is some good tomato sauce. She will be punished!

Chocolate Pear Spice Cake

This cake is great for the holidays. The spices, orange, pear, and chocolate are a great combination and the cake itself is moist and not too heavy. This is one of the best cake recipes I have gotten off of this site.

Tiger Butter II

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
Yum! My family loved this. Our daughter used to get this all of the time at a candy shop when we lived in Ga. I must say this was just as good! Melts in your mouth. I melted everything in the microwave on 30 second intervals, stirring in between. I used about a Tablespoon of shortening in the semi sweet chips to help with the melting. This was so quick and easy. I've already passed on the recipe!

Melt in your Mouth Cookies I

Most of these cookies fell flat. The ones that didn't, crumbled massively (even after letting them cool). There just isn't enough liquid in these to hold them together.

Chicken Piccata

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
Yummy in my tummy! My girlfriend made this simple chicken piccata, but its a good one. The only thing we added we about three tablespoons of capers to the sauce. It nicely cuts the acidity of the lemon and adds a nice complimentary flavor of its own. Also, be sure to squeeze a real lemon instead of bottled juice. C'mon...trust me! Try this simple version first, then you'll have a good reference point for some of the more complex versions.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
Very yummy. I added more sugar, but not a cup worth. I also rolled my cookies in the powdered sugar. I dough was very easy to work with when it was cold, but as soon as it warmed up it required a lot of sugar to keep it from sticking.

Sugar Cookie Icing

very simple. I didn't measure anything i just added more milk or more sugar so i got the consistency i liked. I mixed it all up and put it in pastry bags for 2 seven years olds and 3 year old to decorate cookies. They had a lot of fun and it was easy.

Broccoli and Ramen Noodle Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
This recipe is GREAT! The only thing wrong with it is that it has you put raw Ramen noodles in. The REAL TRICK is to toast them in the oven or on the stove top for a few minutes so that they stay crunchy, at least until your second or third bowl ;) I always add some shredded rotisserie chicken to this for a complete and satisfying meal.

Jay's A Number One Burgers

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
This is an awesome recipe for super moist tasty burgers. I, however, use 1/4 cup marinara sauce instead of steak sauce and put the burgers on sourdough buns for an Italian themed grilling night or I'll use a 1/4 cup of a smokier tasting cheese like Gouda and bread crumbs with no seasoning if I use the steak sauce. That way I don't end up with competing flavors.
